Suspected sockpuppets


A few examples of the "coincidences" I noticed after looking at this deleted list, linked at WP:BLPN#Mayors Against Illegal Guns:

Trasel (first account from 2006; sets the stage by creating an article on James Wesley Rawles), BobbieCharlton (became active the day after the former account had retired), Expatter and GOODtoWyoming also fit the usual behavioral tells, but none of those have edited in a year. I may have missed some (active) accounts, so checkuser would be appreciated. Prolog (talk) 07:52, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets


As noted by Rezin here, Trasel has been keeping himself busy since his sock farm was discovered and blocked a year and a half ago. The accounts show the usual pattern: heavy editing about James Wesley Rawles, on and off the articles where such edits are appropriate. ArdentBravesFan was created on the same day the last SPI case was closed. BellicoseSouthernBelle was created the day after that. DunwoodyWoody appeared a month later to support ArdentBravesFan in a content dispute. BellicoseSouthernBelle and TheSwitzerdude (reactivated, stale during last CU) joined the edit war as the third and fourth socks, and SoBanal,SoBanal made the same edit later. ReformedBeliever's first edit was to restore a Rawles reference made by a blocked Trasel sock. OldCowpoke is an old, obvious sock I missed earlier. Checkuser is requested to catch the socks that aren't easily picked from the page histories of Rawles, American Redoubt and Patriots Novels Series. Prolog (talk) 11:09, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Following are  Confirmed to each other, and  Possilikely (a mix between possible and likely) to accounts in the archive (given the staleness that's the best I can do):
ArdentBravesFan & OldCowpoke are  Stale for the purposes of CU. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 11:45, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think the behavioral evidence is there to connect the possilikely accounts to the archive. However, given that the other two accounts are stale and that the behavioral evidence isn't as strong, I'm going to leave them be for now. Mike V • Talk 20:45, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
