Wikipedia:Meetup/Seattle/LGBT films from SIFF 2023 edit-a-thon
This is an edit-a-thon celebrating the confluence of Wiki Loves Pride 2023 and the screening of LGBT films at the 2023 Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF). This currently is from the films on this topic that the primary organizer, Peaceray, saw at SIFF.

As of May 29, 2023, some of these films have articles, and some do not. For the existing articles, there may be improvements available from other language Wikipedia articles. There is additional opportunity for collateral improvements: major performers in and crew for the films may not have Wikipedia articles or even Wikidata items, and there may be linked articles that can use attention or creation. The latter is particularly true for the documentary on George Platt Lynes.
" " symbols indicate Women in Red.
These were not the only LGBT films at SIFF 2023; other editors are encouraged to add any additional LGBT films that screened at SIFF 2023 and to make additions to this page as they deem fit. A more complete list can be found here:

General instructions
[edit]- Do sign for the "LGBT films from SIFF 2023 edit-a-thon dashboard". Programs & Events Dashboard.
- Attendees are expected to participate in making this friendly, safe, and brave space. Please consider these policies.
- Editors who wish to sign up but not share their username publicly can send an email to Peaceray.
- When starting new articles, keep in mind that:
- Films must meet the film notability guidelines.
- Biographies must meet the notability guideline for people.
- Organizations must meet the notability guidelines for organizations and companies.
- Other topics must meet the general notability guidelines.
- Not every person or topic is notable!
- It is often expedient to create a Wikidata item first. The Wikidata notability criteria is less strict. Creating a Wikidata item should be okay as long as it "refers to an instance of a clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity that can be described using serious and publicly available references." One can then add properties to the item and verify those properties with URLs or other sources.
- It is best for newer editors to start a new article in the Draft namespace. One can create a draft here.
