The result of the discussion was: Moved to Commons. The file has been moved to commons. The local copy is now added to the 2,267 item backlog of files now on Commons waiting to be deleted. (non-admin closure) The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 17:34, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- File:Null-balance voltmeter.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by A-Day (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Recently prod'd by me with reason "Orphaned image with limited possibility for reuse outside of the English Wikipedia because of the embedded English text." Deprodded by User:Spinningspark with comment "Files that have once been in articles should be kept to preserve article history." There are processes for viewing deleted files, WP:NOTAWEBHOST, and if I thought there was possibility for encyclopedic reuse with solid source/license, I would transfer to Commons. ★ Bigr Tex 02:27, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Keep per my deprod rationale. We keep (almost) all past versions of article history. Removing this file will break all 180 past versions of the voltmeter article between 21 August 2005 and 10 November 2008. Only administrators can view deleted files and page history is supposed to be accessible to all users. I don't see what NOTWEBHOST has got to do with this. This is an image that had an encyclopaedic purpose in an article. SpinningSpark 10:06, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Keep The file provides encyclopedic information and deletion has no benefit—nothing is saved. The file should be retained to allow inspection of old revisions of the article in case its history is needed to check whether a current section was better treated in the past. We don't delete old unused text to cleanup, and there is similarly no benefit from deleting an image needed to view old revisions. Johnuniq (talk) 04:04, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Keep for when Voltmeter or Potentiometer (measuring instrument) get improved or when Null-balance voltmeter is belatedly created. Thincat (talk) 10:07, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Note This discussion has been mentioned at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Past images in articles. If the outcome of the discussion is keep, I will move the image to Commons where it is more likely to be found if anyone ever decides to start an article about Null-balance voltmeters and needs a diagram. ★ Bigr Tex 23:14, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- Move to Commons It has the potential to be useful, perhaps in a future Wikipedia article, or perhaps at Wikibooks. Regarding the English text, it's easier for someone on another language site to translate this diagram than to create a new one from scratch. Wikiacc (¶) 01:49, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Keep potentially usable, and will not be so if deleted. It is of encyclopedic potential use, even on commons. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:13, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- Comment. As BigrTex has now moved the file to Commons, this discussion is pretty much moot and can be closed. SpinningSpark 17:28, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

- File:Nervous Witch 20.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Fbv65edel (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
The file is a cartoon from a fundamentalist Christian, which denounces the content of Harry Potter as witchcraft and Satanism. However, relevant quotes can be used instead (and is used in relevant articles), and the graphics (such as the facial expressions of the characters) of the cartoon is not contextually significant to the article. The file therefore violated WP:NFCC#3b and WP:NFCC#8, and should be deleted. 廣九直通車 (talk) 07:13, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

Fails WP:NFCC 8 - The image is supported by the text "The debate has inspired at least two satirical Internet urban legends. In 2001, The Onion, an American satirical newspaper, published an article entitled "Harry Potter Sparks Rise in Satanism Among Children," which said that the "High Priest of Satanism" had described Harry Potter as "an absolute godsend to our cause."", but the presence of the photo is not critical to the understanding of the article, or even the quoted prose. Purely decorative use of non-free content. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 08:42, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Delete - Use is completely decorative, and adds nothing to the understanding of the article. Hog Farm (talk) 00:12, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
