Original – Duck and Cover is a 1951 American civil defense animated and live action social guidance film that is often mischaracterized as propaganda. It has similar themes to the more adult-oriented civil defense training films. It was widely distributed to United States schoolchildren in the 1950s, and teaches students what to do in the event of a nuclear explosion.

It looks like this was nominated in 2018 but didn't have any support. I've gone ahead and made ALT1 from the original MOV at the Library of Congress. The levels have been adjusted to give it more contrast, so it's less grey than File:Duck and Cover 1440 x 1080 01836081.webm but doesn't have the blown highlights in File:Duck And Cover (1951) Bert The Turtle.webm. hinnk (talk) 06:50, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
