P.S. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)
Wildthing61476 removed the speedy delete tag because I've found a few sources for potential notability. They mention a different aim for the company (internet customer service relations systems) than the article, but my guess is because I've been focusing on Public Mind instead of publicmind. I've replied on the talk page with a request for any sources of info you have and a question about website.
Btw, I like your intro at the new user log. I've enjoyed the few spoken articles I've listened to, and would probably enjoy text-to-speech with the latest voices and natural rhythm. (Not enough money to splurge.) I love reading WP and listening to audiodramas and audiobooks. Most are fiction, but I like The Ancestor's Tale because Lalla Ward reads half of it, and it's interesting. TransUtopian 19:34, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Merope speedy deleted it, citing "csd a7 -web" (On the now deleted page, click Deletion log. CSD A7 is Article criteria #7, which means Merope believed the article didn't assert the importance of its subject. (Ignore this if you know this already.)
- I don't know whether Merope or someone else tagged it again. Either s/he didn't look at the history or the talk page, where Wildthing61476 tagged and then untagged it due to us finding possible notability sources, or Merope looked at them but disagreed that they asserted notability.
- The thing is, the sources ([1] [2] [3]) asserted borderline notability for the CRM platform the company started with, not for the free service which "aggregates consumer voices to influence corporate decision making" and which has Skype and Kontiki as clients. The latter fact might be enough to assert notability for the latter, though there are verifiability concerns as I so far haven't been able to find reliable sources for that. Quite a few blogs and forum posts, but those aren't considered reliable in Wikipedia.
- While the sources assert some notability, admins have discretion to apply policy as they see fit. Speedy deletion, if an admin agrees an article meets the criteria, generally goes very fast. You can ask Merope directly, request undelete at Deletion Review, or bring it up/ask others for help with finding sources at Village Pump - Assistance or Help Desk. TransUtopian 16:11, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- The article that I deleted had no sources and made no assertion of notability. It's possible that, in doing some outside research, Wildthing61476 found that the subject was notable; but since no such assertion or evidence was within the article, I deleted it per WP:CSD#A7. You are free to recreate the article with sources that back up a claim of notability. -- Merope Talk 17:43, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- My apologies. On that day, there was a backlog of over 200 articles that needed investigation or deletion, and I must not have been paying as close attention as I should have been. I will be more careful in the future. -- Merope Talk 01:06, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

So there's the explanation. Stuff happens. :) Sometimes when I'm reverting a bunch of vandalism I miss something which isn't vandalism and I or someone else has to correct my mistake.
Merope might be willing to restore the article to your userspace to fix up, if it's not something which can be easily recreated. But I haven't yet found evidence that Publicmind is notable outside of blogs for the internet meme it became. For the CRM solution it was going to be, that has borderline notability, but that's not the focus of the intended article.
If you can find non-blog significant mentions of Publicmind as harnessing the internet to gather grassroots support, I'll gladly support. It's a great idea and I'm disappointed that it folded before I heard of it. TransUtopian 11:43, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]BTW welcome to Wikiproject medicine. Speedy deletion nomination of WorkJam (Company)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on WorkJam (Company), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with WorkJam (Company). If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:04, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
- As I stated on Your talk page I have not removed the tag myself. Please don't accuse me of something I didn't do. Also please don't spam my talk page with redundant information.
- I have created a draft of my page. here --Zaurus (talk) 23:25, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

removed comment
[edit]Hi. I removed your comment from Wikipedia talk:Article wizard because the talk page is meant for discussions about the page itself. It's not meant for comments about the process of writing an article. WP:RS addresses your sourcing issue and RS is linked from the article wizard. Chris Troutman (talk) 23:25, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources mentions "news releases" but not Newswire websites per say. If it doesn't explicitly warn people that these websites are not reliable, then people will continue to waste time citing them without knowing.
- The Wikipedia_talk:Article_wizard isn't helping people avoid this pit trap for now. I think my comment relates directly to the quality or helpfulness of this article, so please restore my comment to allow people to discuss how to improve the wizard. --Zaurus (talk) 00:29, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

Kitsilano
[edit]Hello! I saw there was an IPA pronunciation added to the Kitsilano page, but it wasn't formatted with a template, so I decided to put it through the {{IPAc-en}} template. However, one of the IPA symbols you used, ɨ, was not recognized by the template, so I had to replace it with a different symbol. I replaced it with ə, making /kɪtsəˈlænoʊ/, which made the most sense to me. But I don't live in Vancouver, so I'm not 100% sure how Kitsilano is actually pronounced, so I wanted to ask you if there was a different IPA symbol that would be more correct here. Saucy[talk – contribs] 23:30, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with your choice. I feel like in Canadian English, the vowel in any syllable which is not stressed sort of morphs into the ə sound anyway. Zaurus (talk) 00:21, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
