Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Somali Civil War (2009–present), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 13:25, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just did, you're welcome! Zabezt (talk) 18:54, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I only didn't include a source due to the lack of one on the cafe-car bombing incident on July 14th. (Which now that I think about it, I should change that.) Zabezt (talk) 19:06, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Horn of Africa (defined as including Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti, and adjoining areas if involved in related disputes), a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Ecrusized (talk) 22:13, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah… so until that's over, why bother putting the map back up? Zabezt (talk) 23:06, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, why can't you just settle this with me? We could've ended this a while ago, I'm just concerned about my country and the lies around it. You know the whole "anarchy" and "pirate nation" thing. I don't want your potential lie to be added with it, My people are tired of being lied about man… Zabezt (talk) 23:34, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Ecrusized. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 06:41, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks to other editors can lead to a loss of editing privileges. Just had to inform you about that. Please do not harass other editors because you disagree with their edits. Be civil and discuss differences on the article talk page. Liz Read! Talk! 06:44, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you make a revert on the Somali Civil War article one more time, you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Ecrusized (talk) 00:21, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ecrusized, I simply want to negotiate with you. That's all I'm asking for. Zabezt (talk) 00:29, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
