You need to format footnotes
[edit]Greetings, you're not quite tracking on what we mean by needing footnotes. Please take a quick look at WP:Referencing for beginners to see how footnotes are coded in. Since your article is a biography of a living person, its sources must be footnoted in, not just listed at the bottom, and not formatted as WP:External links. If you get stuck, check in with the volunteer mentors at WP:Teahouse. MatthewVanitas (talk) 21:48, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Redirects
[edit]Hello, Nixols,
You can not change a page redirect so that it points to a blank page. It will be deleted. Create an article first and then, later, create any possible redirects to it that are applicable. Liz Read! Talk! 21:50, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for October 29
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mo Ostin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fairfax High School. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:23, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

Your recent additions to Brown Derby article
[edit]@Nixols: I have noticed past week or so that you have added quite a bit of new material to the Brown Derby article, unfortunately your method of entering incomplete citations could use some improvements. Many of your references to Los Angeles Times articles lack url links so it makes it very difficult for other editors to check your work. How are you accessing the L.A. Times? Directly from latimes.com? proquest.com? newspapers.com?
Most L.A. Times articles that were written after 1985 can be access directly (and free in most cases) directly from latimes.com. Articles written before 1985 can be access through both proquest.com and newspapers.com. If you are able to get urls (web links) from either archives, PLEASE INCLUDE THESE URLs since readers at a university or public library might have free access to either or both newspaper archive and they can read the actual cited articles.
Neglecting to include proper web links makes it much harder than it needs to be for other editors to check your additions and to confirm if what you had written is correct or not.
When you are making multiple citations to the same book, try using the {{sfn}} template. I have already did some of the conversions and you can see the improvements when clicking on the initial footnote.
BTW, did you know that there was a short lived (~1 yr) Brown Derby restaurant during the 1930s at 3927 Wilshire Boulevard that later became the first Perino's? The Brown Derby replaced another concept owned by Somborn that failed.
Please let me know if you have any questions. -- 68.50.32.85 (talk) 04:36, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Studio Instrument Rentals
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Studio Instrument Rentals, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. noq (talk) 23:03, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
Roger C. Folz moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Roger C. Folz, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
