Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Ll0103, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 20:22, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you are unable to edit without citing your own work, then do not edit Wikipedia

[edit]

Here are suggested readings: WP:SECONDARY and WP:COI. The point of these guidelines are:

  • Wikipedia prefers citations to reviews and books, not primary journal references (tens of thousands appear annually). Citing secondary sources is the encyclopedic style.
  • Do not cite yourself or your colleagues. It's called conflict of interest. Many new editors cite themselves mainly (see Wikipedia:Spam). That behavior is unacceptable. We are looking for editors who have broad knowledge.

Azulene

[edit]

Hi Ll0103. While your contributions to Wikipedia are welcomed, you must not add irrelevant materials to articles, as you did at azulene. That article is about the material with CAS number 275-51-4, as the Chembox makes clear. It is not appropriate to mention derivatives, particularly which have no separate article in Wikipedia showng they are notable and which are not made from azulene. I have therefore reverted your addition. If you wish to draft an article on the azulene derivatives or their synthesis, please use the WP:AFC process, supplying reliable WP:SECONDARY sources that show how they are notable in Wikipedia's specialist sense. Edit warring

[edit]

You appear to be trying to force your additions into articles by a process we call WP:Edit warring, for example at reactive intermediate. While Wikipedia encourages editors to be bold, they should engage in discussions on the Talk Pages of articles if they are WP:REVERTED by others, in order to reach a WP:CONSENSUS about what should be included. In the case of reactive intermediate, I concur with Smokefoot that your edit was not appropriate and, per MOS:LEAD should in any case not have been placed in the lead section, since it is not discussed in the main text there. I have reverted the edit. If you wish to discuss this, please do so on Talk:Reactive_intermediate. Mike Turnbull (talk) 14:47, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Draft:Molecular-strain engineering. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:58, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
