They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. If you want to ask a user why they archived something, you can post a question on their user talk page. In this case I assume the thread was archived because it was two years old. Hi Depotadore! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of United Kingdom several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:United Kingdom, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. You are edit warring. I don't know why you've changed "Republic of Ireland" to "Ireland" four times in this article, restoring it when others have changed it back, but if you do it again you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
