"Names not originally in a Latin alphabet, such as Greek, Chinese, or Russian names, must be transliterated. Established systematic transliterations, such as Hanyu Pinyin, are preferred. However, if there is a common English-language form of the name, then use it, even if it is unsystematic (as with Tchaikovsky and Chiang Kai-shek). Georgian help needed

[edit]

Hello David1010, I'm contacting you because we need some Georgian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on ka.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Georgian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 17:33, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of judo organizations, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Georgia. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ungrouded requirement to the Georgian User at non-georgian wikis

[edit]

FYI: an application at en-wiki. Personally, I do not consider the claims to the nick "ელექტროსისტემა" to be reasonable. "electric system" is a common word, which does not implicitly represent the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Your comments at en.wikipedia.org are appreciated. Thank you, Cherurbino (talk) 11:31, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The scope of the problem is wider. Here you may see lots of other backdated claims, directed exclusively against nicknames, written in Armenian, Georgian and other non-Lat/Cyr alphabets. The articles challenged with these invectives backdate even to 2012 - such as these improvement to the article about Abashidze. A curious policy, if not to say strange ((. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited DVB-T2, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Georgia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Protected user talk

[edit]

I've been dealing with a correspondent on the VRT mailbox who is trying to find out why a page on kawiki was deleted. Your user talk page on kawiki is protected so they are unable to ask. From the perspective of enwiki this seems unusual as it would be a violation of WP:ADMINACCT. How are new users supposed to communicate with you? Cabayi (talk) 10:11, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I already remove protection from my talk page.--David 13:12, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
