Btw, something is odd with your talk page format... Is it intended? --BorgQueen (talk) 08:47, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
The TOC is on the top right corner, which looks awkward to me, and the main text body of the talk page is considerably restricted... with a large chunk of whitespace on the right. --BorgQueen (talk) 08:57, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Now it looks normal... I use Firefox, btw... --BorgQueen (talk) 10:25, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

DYK reviewer needed

Do you know how to review DYK candidates? We are having a bit of backlog there. --BorgQueen (talk) 10:56, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Elderly first, kids later. Please review the old hooks first... --BorgQueen (talk) 11:45, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

RE:DYK

I went ahead and replied under the Zia (New Mexico) article. What do you think of the other one I put--Two thousand lei (Romanian banknote). It hasn't got a review yet?--SchnitzelMannGreek. 13:30, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

What do you mean it needs 1000 more characters? It barely had anthing useful till I expanded it. And if I fix the referance on the romanian article, could that qualify?SchnitzelMannGreek. 20:19, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I'll work more, by the way, how's the Romanian article, I fixed the referance?SchnitzelMannGreek. 20:31, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
I fixed the referances, I guess. Is it good? What should I do now?--SchnitzelMannGreek. 20:52, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

I went ahead and expanded Zia (New Mexico) to meet the requirement like you said. This, I believe is worthy for DYK now.SchnitzelMannGreek. 21:57, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

ITN

Thanks for your comment on the ITN nom of the Urumqi riots. I had two quick questions for you.... first of all, is it ok for the bold link in the blurb to be a link to a section, rather than to the whole article? I think I remember seeing other things in ITN that have been like that, but I can't find a specific guideline anywhere.

Also, is it ok for me to update ITN myself, with my own nom? The last time I nommed something I withdrew it, but one of the reviewers there basically told me that if I wanted I could BOLDly update the template myself once (and if it was reverted by another admin, then of course we would have to discuss it). I figured for the sake of being timely, and because so far no one has objected to the nom, it probably wouldn't hurt if I posted it...but wanted to check first. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 01:50, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Prep 2 is clear now. Sorry about the delay; I was hurriedly fixing some things because it turns out my ITN generated a bit of a fuss! (Not that there was anything wrong with boldly promoting it; this is a pretty little-known area of the world among English speakers, so I doubt leaving it at ITN/C for another 24 hours would have attracted any expert comments/opposes of the kind I got once it was on the MP.) rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 03:40, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

DYK credits

No problem. By the way, I would much appreciate if you could review some of my DYK nominations. For some reason they are being overlooked by regular reviewers... I don't think they are particularly boring though. --BorgQueen (talk) 18:43, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Could you delete extra DYK credit templates once you're done assembling a set? The bot's dumb and credits User:Editor if there are extras. Shubinator (talk) 01:03, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

OK, didn't know that, will do. --candlewicke 01:05, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

DYK

Hey. I understand that you're trying to make sure you get the verified ones, but taking hooks from today, like you did here, is something you should not be doing. Double-check the ones at the bottom before you go about taking ones from the 9th and putting them into prep. It's just not good sense at all. Wizardman 15:51, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

That's alright. Sorry if I came across harsh, DYK just has a knack for frustrating me these days. Wizardman 15:57, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Prep

The current prep has too many bio hooks. And I was saving Victor Manuel Blanco to use as a lead hook in another queue. --BorgQueen (talk) 20:17, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

"especially in the circumstances": We have two loaded queues at the moment, so we have more than 12 hours until the panic time. I don't think we need to hurry yet, it doesn't really matter anyway because I can swap some of the bio hooks with another queue. As for Blanco, the point is not only how great the image looks, but how well the article is written, too. I tend to prefer science-related articles as lead hooks these days because I feel they have been underrepresented at DYK (except biology). But the image's copyright status has some issues so nevermind that. --BorgQueen (talk) 20:41, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Keep up the great work! Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 08:15, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

No problem! You're doing some truly awesome work around here. As for the double-double issue, I agree; in the interests of organization, we'd probably take down the other Rwanda-Congo one. As for expanding them, I guess just add the relevant information to each respective page and post them up on ITN/C. Cheers, Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 21:02, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Hmm... I'd love to include it, but I'm not sure under what headline; this is fairly notable being the first attack of its sort in Mauritania, and clearly the French government thinks it's a big deal. However, every wording I've attempted to use makes it sound as if France's involvement is actually more important than the bombing; without mention of the government, the wording seems sparse and dry. Ideas? Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 22:58, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm still not sure about it; seems flimsy, for some reason. As sad is it seems to say, the absence of a body count makes this an unappealing news entry to many people. Any other ideas for tagline? Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 23:15, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Hmm... we just need a good tagline, and I think I'll put it up. Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 23:49, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
How does this sound? "A suicide bombing in Nouakchott, Mauritania, becomes the country's first and causes the French government to investigate." If you think it's too long, I can trim it to just the first part (and exclude the role of the French). Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 00:44, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Haha, how rogue of you! I love it. I'll post it up. Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 00:47, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm down with the Libya/Chad one. Also, you missed an ITN thing; WASP-17b. Just kidding, you don't have to give me that one :P As for Argentina et all, I'll post that in a second, just gonna space out posts a bit... Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 03:31, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Hmm... I think that Venezuela/Argentine are too old to go up now. As for the Romania one, I'd like to see some more consensus on that... Good work on cleaning up the article, though! Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 07:35, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

No, no, don't feel bad! :) No offense intended, but I didn't post it solely because you asked (though your support did have a factor). I appreciate, on another note, that you're willing to confront issues you see when you see them; that's a quality a lot of people are lacking here. Miriam

I'll have a go at it. I boldy created Miriam Meets..., removing any mention of it over at Conversations with ED. Two days later, could Meets be DYKable?  Cargoking  talk  00:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

I think the Lyric article could be extended. When I get the time, I will do a major expansion.  Cargoking  talk  09:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Would you mind adding in the first couple sentences in the article itself that the sport is badminton? I wasn't sure where to add, and my brain isn't working too well right now ;P. SpencerT♦Nominate! 00:46, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
No problem...I've been incredibly busy this summer, and I don't know how much I will be able to help the project, but I will still be helping out as much as I can anytime I manage to get on. SpencerT♦Nominate! 01:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Busy in real life in this case...I've gotten much more involved, to put it one way. SpencerT♦Nominate! 01:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Very much so. SpencerT♦Nominate! 01:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

One thing though. At least ITN is faster than GAN, where Latakia has been for almost a month. SpencerT♦Nominate! 01:24, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

ITNSource?

There are about 5 people continuously pushing for ITN to become a news source. they keep saying they are not but i dont even think they read what they are writing. everytime we try and explain that it would make ITN a biased news source the easiest way for everyone to change the conversation is to just blame anti-US bias or the fact that we are ITN regulars. No actual good reasons. One just wants it to be wikinews since he works on wikinews. One just uses the words like sickening, offensive, ajoke etc to try and get his point through without actually saying why... i am too tired to actually reply in those discussions as they are becoming dumber by day but if we dont do anything there is a pretty good chance that ITN will be come ITNS a news source that is... just put whatever is on top of CNN lol. The reasons for posting dugard alone show how much these people want this to be a CNN copy. what do u think we should do... -- Ashish-g55 17:17, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Admin?

Greetings! I don't believe we've crossed paths previously, so allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dylan, and I have been recently looking for candidates for adminship. I've seen you around, and I have great respect for you and I think you would be a great help to DYK and ITN, so I was wondering if you would like me to nominate you for adminship. Cheers, Dylan620 (contribs, logs)help us! 23:30, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
