Adding external links to the body of an article
[edit]Hello, I'm Vanjagenije. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Matt Haag. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal Wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Vanjagenije (talk) 19:14, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:45, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Do you have any idea who could be vandalizing it? It's unusual that a new article would attract so much vandalism. There seems to be lots of socking going on.- Gilliam (talk) 22:53, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- It's not possible to allow some new users to edit a page, while excluding others. I could unprotect the page entirely, but the vandalism there is extreme and disruptive to the Recent Changes patrollers.- Gilliam (talk) 22:55, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, the page has been unprotected for now. However, if frequent vandalism occurs, especially vandalism violating the WP:BLP policy, it will probably be protected again.- Gilliam (talk) 22:58, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
any chance you can turn it on but just whitelist a few people or make it protected again after a few minutes of making the final edits?
- Sure- kindly let me know when you are finished so I can protect it again. (also remember to sign your talk page comments with four tildes ~~~~)- Gilliam (talk) 23:03, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
right I think its done are you active over time because if not it needs to be protected but I need to be able to change it and add things to it, like is there a way on how could be able to protect and un-protect the article? Beast01998 (talk) 23:06, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Put up protection for now anyway
Hi Gilliam can you please protect the page now, all work for now has been completed I see that I can request things to be changed but will I be able to message you to unprotect it whilst I work on it. Also is there anyway that I can be the person that protects and unp[rotects pages or can you tell me what I need to do to access this function. Beast01998 (talk) 23:32, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Matt Haag. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 01:06, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- hi c.fred I've just linked him to esports players does that mean that the page is no longer an orphan and therefore can remove that tag? Beast01998 (talk) 01:09, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- He was not linked in any articles before, but I see him on the list now. I've removed the orphan tag. —C.Fred (talk) 01:12, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
I have got to go, becaus eit is 1 am but can you please tell me why this article currently in some sections does not match wikipedias tone, it is formal and doesn't speak like he is a friend but in a serious manner, do you think that tag can be removed now? Beast01998 (talk) 01:15, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- I've changed it to the more descriptive {{copy edit}} tag and indicated the specific issues. The two main problems are putting game titles in italics and removing external links from the body of the text. —C.Fred (talk) 01:25, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi C.Fred I have know made these adjustments so can you see if it fits the categories of the problems listed, thanks. Beast01998 (talk) 12:57, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Matt Haag. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 21:33, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 11
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Major League Gaming, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages FPS and Tom Ryan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
