The article Vera MacLeavy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unclear why she is notable. Sources, as far a they work, are either trivial (her obituary), passing mentions, or (mostly) "inside" sources from her church, not independent sources about her. Looking for other sources, I can only find passing mentions (like "communicated by archivist Vera MacLeavy of the ..." and the like), nothing substantial.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 07:48, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- You are mistaken Fram. She is mentioned many times in the Gleaner (Jamaica's main and venerable newspaper) - check their archive index (access to articles requires payment) and doubtless in other offline sources. We're dealing here with someone who was active in the pre-internet era so it's not surprising that Google does not turn up much. -Arb. (talk) 12:58, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Glenmuir High School Logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Glenmuir High School Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 23:31, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Anup. I noticed in the recent changes log that you moved an article from your userspace to Wikipedia:. - Aw! sorry. I'll impose this error on my shortcut tendency (it is quite useful but often brings embarrassment). I copied earlier userspace title and pasted it. Your username...
Hello there! I'm here on a mission of peace and prosperity, and am noticing that your username violates (used loosely in this case) Wikipedia:Username policy#Misleading usernames under bullet number two as it implies that you are the Arb. I'm here under an AGF and realize that you have had your account since 2006 and don't think you intentionally picked the username for that reason (and am guessing that the committee was formed after you signed up with the user account name). What I am here to ask is if you would be willing to add a disclaimer or userbox to your user page that says that you are in no way connected to the committee to prevent possible future confusion. I'd be happy to help you set it up if you like, and you're certainly grand-something-or-othered as far as I'm concerned. — {{U|Technical 13}} (e • t • c)

Howdy! Thanks for updating that page. I had nominated it for deletion. Still not convinced it is notable enough but you know what, at least it looks better now. I should have just revamped it myself. Anyway, 2 other things! First, I've been doing a revamp of tons of Fire Department pages on here so I know a few of the conventions. You will see a made a few stylistic changes to the page. Just trying to keep the conventions going. Where the references in the infobox are, that sort of thing. Second, are you interested in the fire service? I'm working on the WP:FD and have largely been on my own. Would LOVE some assistance if you are interested. Anyway, ping me sometime! Best, Zackmann08 (talk) 21:47, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

You have reverted my edit at Template:Colleges in Dhaka with the comment "If a redirect page is linked it prevents the navbox entry appearing black (unlinked) on the article page". You are right, BUT the current link in the navbox, the one that you have restored, is a redirect. The current article title is Bangladesh Air Force Shaheen College, Dhaka, so the navbox entry does not appear black in the navbox when someone is reading this article. The purpose of my edit was to correct it, but the problem has been restored with your reversal. Thank you for checking. Olivier (talk) 19:08, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
- Brainstorm; reverted. However, BAF Shaheen College is in the navbox a second time under group=12 Tejgaon; any idea which is correct? -Arb. (talk) 20:02, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you. I am not really familiar with the subject matter, so I just did some research and ended up confused. Bangladesh Air Force Shaheen College has five campuses, and 2 seem to be in Dhaka. I don't know which one, if any is in Tejgaon. Information found on the web in English is not conclusive. Well, to answer your question: honestly, I don't know. Fire Departments in Pennsylvania
Heyo! I wanted to let you know that I merged your {{Fire Departments in Pennsylvania}} with {{Pennsylvania fire departments}}. The main reason for this was to keep it consistent with the other US state fire department navigational boxes. I am in the process of trying to clean up every fire department page on here believe it or not... Check out my WIP list. I am kind of jumping around. Doing some California until I get bored, then going over to Pennsylvania, then back to Cali.... lol. Anyway just wanted to ping you and explain why I merged it. Let me know if you have any questions/comments. Hoping you are well! --Zackmann08 (talk) 18:30, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- No worries. I saw that existed but a) it didn't seem to be used on owt b) sea of red. The latter is somewhat improved by your merge. Two thoughts: 1) From a reader's point of view, linking the navbox title to a category page seems downright counter intuitive; I'd expect either an overview article or a list of article. 2) A link to the commons category (the one thing you dropped) is beneficial. If you care to make either of those changes across the entire set I'll lend a hand; there are less than a dozen at the moment. -Arb. (talk) 20:04, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- Good comments! I'm going to take them point by point.
- 1) Agreed, a lot of red! Per WP:REDNOT it appears this is valid, though certainly up for debate. Personally, I like to think it encourages people to fill stuff in. Also, once I have finished the project of updating all current fire department pages, I plan to go back and fill a lot of them in.
- 2) I think you make a very good point here. I would be in favor of linking to the list. The main reason I didn't do that initially (from what I can remember) is that not all states have such a list. While all states that have even 1 department, do have the category. The other thing is that the category constantly updates while the list does not.
- 3) I'm not opposed to the Commons category, but I have never seen a commons link in a navbox. They usually go on an article or category. If you have seen it on a navbox before I'd love to see an example!
- Just my thoughts. --Zackmann08 (talk) 23:33, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- 1) At the time it was close to 100% red; OK now. 2) One could add Lists for states without them, or simply leave the navbox title unlinked in those cases - that's not uncommon. 3) {{University of Dhaka}} is one. There are others. The one you redirected was also set up that way so you could copy the |bottom= line from there. -Arb. (talk) 00:16, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- Ok you got me totally sold! I LOVE the way the bottom link looks! I'm on board 100%. One thing, lets use {{icon}} for the commons icon. Thanks so much for pointing that all out!! --Zackmann08 (talk) 00:26, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

De-PRODs
This was ridiculous, in my opinion. The George Reddy statement was unsourced in that article and was unsourced in the George Reddy article itself. As it turns out, the statement seems actually to be wrong and, in any event, if you thought that the article should be redirected then that is what you should have done. - Sitush (talk) 15:13, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

De-PRODs again
You need to stop doing de-PRODs because you clearly lack clue in this area. This is another example of you effectively being disruptive: if I "may well be right", as you say in your edit summary, then clearly either you have done no checks for sources yourself or you have done some and come to the same conclusion as me (a rather noted contributor to caste articles on Wikipedia). Your summary also says "check What Links Here", presumably because you saw a lot of links. What you misunderstand is that those links appear because of a template that mentions the clan and is included in articles relating to other clans, ie {{Gotras of Jats}}.
If I come across another instance of a crap de-PROD by you any time soon, I'll be propose that you are banned from working in the deletion area altogether until you can demonstrate a more thorough appreciation of procedures and rationales. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 08:00, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Mass de-PROD-ding
Hi, you are not really supposed to remove {{PROD}} as fast as you can without any attempt or even without any possibility to improve the articles. Warnings from 1 to 5:
- Meanwhile somebody redirected the completely bogus Ogg Writ, and I fixed your completely bogus Talk:Ogg Writ wannabe-"assessment".
- Similar problem on Liftbyggarna, now on Articles for Deletion, because "has homepage" and "Arb claims that there are Google hits" is not the same as WP:CORP.
- Transilvania International Guitar Festival, meanwhile on AFD, bogus unreferenced spam by 2007 SPA.
- Scottish Festival Orchestra, unreferenced stub tagged since 2006 (nine years.)
- Domain Awareness System, your rationale: "It's a reasonable redirect."
That's five warnings in a row, and there might be far more issues: There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Be..anyone (talk) 05:27, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Norbert Kraft (Medical Doctor)
The article Norbert Kraft (Medical Doctor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Only significant coverage comes from a non-independent source.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hirolovesswords (talk) 23:25, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
