Speedy deletion nomination of Csdg

[edit]

Hello Afiero,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Csdg for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. LukeSurl t c 00:09, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Csdg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No external references to establish notability, very little context.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Afiero. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.—J. M. (talk) 01:53, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed sorry I wasn't aware of the guidelines in that regards.

I hope this is the correct to ask for help with this issue. I made a mistake and added a page I am related to an article I wrote about a company I own. I was simply trying to get on this list as a video platform and the requirement was to have an Article and it did't cross my mind as I couldn't image that the company history and such information like i saw in Kaltura article could be furnished without intimate knowledge.

I read your guidelines again as i have been off Wikipedia for a while and I usually contribute on sports and tech.

But now the page reads kind of negative and i would like the whole page deleted. I own the AVideo trademark and I would not like it used as such.

Would you be so kind as to completely delete this mistake?

After reading the guidelines I understand completely, it will never happen again. I had no ill intentions whatsoever. But please I do not want my trade mark used as such or displayed as such. AVideo is a media platform that has been in use since 2007 and din't think I was doing anything wrong. Sorry.

I will get more involved with this project in order to catch up on things such as this error on my part. Just been busy as you can image.

Please remove this article completely. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVideo

If this is not the forum for this , please advise as to how or who to reach to have the page removed. Thank you in advance.

Speedy deletion nomination of AVideo

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on AVideo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi (@Largoplazo:)

I hope this is the correct to ask for help with this issue. I made a mistake and added a page I am related to an article I wrote about a company I own.

I was simply trying to get on this list as a video platform (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_hosting_services) and the requirement was to have an Article and it did't cross my mind as I couldn't image that the company history and such information like I saw in Kaltura article could be furnished without intimate knowledge. It is a video platform that has been around since 2007 and I thought it should be included.

I read your guidelines again as I have been off Wikipedia for a while and I usually contribute on sports and tech.

But now the page reads kind of negative and i would like the whole page deleted.

I own the AVideo trademark and I would not like it used as such. Word Mark: AVIDEO, Serial Number: 77450549

Would you be so kind as to completely delete this mistake?

After reading the guidelines I understand completely, it will never happen again. I had no ill intentions whatsoever. But please I do not want my trade mark used as such or displayed as such. Hi, thanks for understanding. The article was, in fact, deleted five hours before you wrote. Regards, Largoplazo (talk) 11:59, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I just read your conversation at the Teahouse. Now I see what you meant—you thought the log entry was a page and thought people searching for your company would find it. As was explained to you, that isn't a page and it isn't indexed. Well—Google indexes Wikipedia pages immediately, so there was an interval during which people would have found the deletion notice if they searched in the last five hours. But I just ran a search now, and the the article isn't coming up, so it looks like Google's already purged it.
Do you also want your logo deleted? Largoplazo (talk) 12:06, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(@Largoplazo:)

I have a question first. Afiero (talk) 09:11, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
When I uploaded the logo for avideo, it required copyrights release. How would some else making an entry as such be able to add a logo for AVideo? Afiero (talk) 09:11, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also if you look at the second page of this search results link. AVideo is coming up on the list of video hosting sites result, but I am no longer there on the list, and that is what I was trying to do is be listed on that list of Online Video hosting platforms.

https://www.google.com/search?q=avideo+platform&rlz=1C1CHWL_enUS779US779&oq=avideo+platform&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j0l4j69i61j69i60l2.3383j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Someone who wants to upload another person's copyrighted image needs to secure permission, including the owner's agreement to allow the image to be shareable by Wikipedia users under Wikipedia's terms. See WP:Donating copyrighted materials for more information.
As long as a page exists on the Internet, and as long as it remains indexable, Google seems to have a hard time letting go of its association with any words that were in it at any time even if they were removed long ago. For example, in January 2014 someone added to the article on dancer Nick Lazzarini the false information that he was married to someone named Elizabeth. This was removed about a year later, but if you Google him today, the summary information, attributed to Wikipedia, still shows this false information gleaned from the article six years ago. Sorry, there's nothing anyone at Wikipedia can do about that. Largoplazo (talk) 17:15, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(@Largoplazo:) OK, thanks for taking the time to educate me. It is truly appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Well, this may be slightly off-topic, but the Google summary does not claim the "Spouse: Elizabeth Lazzarini" information comes from Wikipedia (and it was not removed from Wikipedia because it was false, but because it was "unsupported"). Only the intro is attributed to Wikipedia. The rest of the "knowledge panel" (including the photos, movies and TV shows etc.) is collected from other sources. And even then, there is the "Feedback" link where you can correct the information, although, based on my experience, I am skeptical about its effectiveness (Google has a habit of ignoring all feedback unless forced by law—see the right to be forgotten in the EU).—J.
