Keri Wyatt Kent is a Christian author, collaborative writer, and speaker. She writes and speaks about spiritual formation but is particularly known for her writing on the modern day iterations of the ancient practice of Sabbath[1].

Professional

Her published works include 11 titles of her own, seven collaborative books – including co-writing a book with Bill Hybels of Willow Creek Community Church and dozens of articles for magazines and websites. Her profile of Anne Graham Lotz for Christianity Today [2] earned Kent an Evangelical Press Association award in 2009[3].

Kent is also a journalist. In her early career, she was a reporter with The Daily Herald, located in suburban Chicago. She went on to write for a variety of national publications, including Christianity Today, Today's Christian Woman[4], Patheos[5], and the digital magazine Kyria[6]. She writes frequently about leadership[7], spiritual growth [8], and parenting [9]. One of her parenting articles, on "Nurturing Faith and Curiosity" [10] was among Today’s Christian Woman’s top four parenting articles of 2013[11].

Kent has written video-based curriculum used in churches throughout the United States, including The Daniel Plan by Rick Warren and Outrageous Justice, a curriculum created for Prison Fellowship and she is also a member of Ink: A Creative Collective.

Personal

Keri married her husband Scot in 1991, and they have two grown children (Melanie and Aaron). They live in the Chicago suburbs.

In addition to writing and speaking, Kent serves as a lay pastor at Willow Creek Community Church. She has been a member and a volunteer of the church for nearly 30 years, teaching adult education classes, and coaching and leading small groups. In response to the Syrian refugee crisis, she began volunteering with Exodus World Service, welcoming Syrian refugees to the United States, as well.
