Herda Vim? (born Andre Tharpe, 1991) is a British music producer, songwriter and MC from South West London, England.
Biography
[edit]Early life
[edit]Growing up in the borough of Wandsworth, Herda Vim? was heavily influenced by the sounds of Grime music, and the likes of Grime artists such as Kano, Wiley, Mike Skinner and The Mitchell Brothers. His father had a home studio set up which Herda used to make his early beats. By the age of 14 he was writing and performing his own lyrics to DaVinChe instrumentals played from mobile phones at school with his classmates.
Career
[edit]Previously under the alias Dynamz, Herda recorded his first set of demos in 2007, studied a music technology course at 6th form college in for two years. In 2009, Herda appeared and performed at the annual ‘UK Unsigned’ at the Hackney Empire, reaching the finals - ‘UK Unsigned’ is the biggest new talent showcase in Britain. X Factor winner Leona Lewis other popular acts including N-Dubz, Katie Melua and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Flawless Dance Group. Herda Vim? is currently music producing and song writing, collaborating with many other artists like Cupes and MC Tigz, producing tracks for his mixtape The Hard Way, released in September 2010. Herda Vim? has his own mixtape scheduled for release in 2011.
