Tom Kelsey is a computer scientist and mathematician at the university of St Andrews. He is known for his work with various co workers on many different publications. His most important publication was on the radiosensitivity on the human oocyte. He is a Member of The International society for Fertility preservation and The Royal Society of Medicine. Then in 2011 Tom Kelsey became a Fellow for The Royal Society of Medicine. He has been a board member of The Children and Teenagers Scottish Cancer Network since 2006 to 2011 when he became a board member for the Managed Services Network for Children and Young people with Cancer. He has been invited to talk at 26 events including the EPSRC impact festival in march 2018 and the Edinburgh Fertility Preservation event in 2016. He has also designed, implemented, validated and released some apps to transfer knowledge in health data science. This includes ivfPredict which is an Android (operating system) and iOS app to calculate individual chances of a live birth after an IVF cycle in 2012 and recently Freya which is designed to help with visualisation and logging of ultrasound and endocrine tests and informs users about ovarian reserve and their age at menopause.

[edit]Tom Kelsey from 2006 to 2011 was a board member for the Children and Teenagers Scottish Cancer network, NHS Scotland. Then from 2011 to the present he is a board member for Managed Services Network for Children and Young people with cancer, NHS Scotland. Tom was also an External Assessor for eHealth Clinical Portal Benefits Realisation, NHS Scotland from 2012 till 2014.
App development
[edit]Tom Kelsey from 2012 has been designing, implementing, validating and releasing apps for both iOS and Android (operating system). His Apps include ivfPredict, MyGraine, MapMySmoke, Forcast2 and Mini-AFTERc and Freya. IvfPredict is an app to calculate individual chances of a live birth after an IVF cycle which was released in 2012. MyGraine is an app tom designed to record and visualise migraine-related symptoms and events and it was released in 2015. After he designed an app called Forecast2 and Mini-AFTERc which recorded and logged fears that patients had of a recurrence of breast cancer. This app was developed for validation in conjunction with NHS Lothian. Freya, his latest app, was designed to visualise and log the ultrasound and endocrine tests that inform the people who use the app about their ovarian reserve and age at menopause.

One of his first papers on The radiosensitivity of the human oocyte which he did with Professor Hamish Wallace and Angela Thomson is still very important and has been cited over 470 times even though it is 15 years old.
