March 2021

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Magnolia677. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, World Dryer, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. At World Dryer, first you added unsourced content, then you added a tag to the page because of all the unsourced content. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:24, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Oh sorry about that. I have recently checked the World Dryer Website and found out that there is an VERDEDri Hand Dryer model that was released in 2018. DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 17:27, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

I recommend you take a look at our deletion policy to understand what pages are suitable for inclusion on Wikipedia. We do not allow pages that blatantly misuse Wikipedia as a webhost. Both my user pages and others have been deleted for that reason. Hope you understand. Aasim (talk) 06:09, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

April 2021

[edit]

Sorry, who is this, I see you deleted my post. I understand bias was included in the first one so it was taken down, but this one had nothing to do with bias. I was simply updating the information. So why did you delete a comment on a school that is halfway across the country? Also when you put “Uhh...” as the reason for removal, you’re not helping anyone. Give an actual valid reason as to why you deleted it. 38.140.208.178 (talk)

Hi there. All additions to Wikipedia need to be sourced, which is why your edits were reverted. Please read WP:UNSOURCED for more information on that policy. If your additions are covered in reliable sources, you should feel free to re-add them, with a citation to those sources. Sauzer (talk) 17:30, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Amen to that. DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 17:36, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Sock tagging

[edit]

Do not tag users as sockpuppets, ever. Leave it up to the SPI clerks. Sro23 (talk) 15:06, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I probably didn’t know until now. Maybe SPI Clerks can do that, not me. DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 15:09, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

About removing my input

[edit]

Can you explain why "your recent contributions to Foreign relations of Tunisia have been undone because they did not appear constructive"? SageWorld (talk)

Whoops, I thought that your edits wasn’t very constructive but it turns out. It’s my mistake so I probably have to think next time but You must provide a reliable sources otherwise it will be a revert. DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 16:06, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

Tagging pages for speedy deletion

[edit]

Hello, DFW FAA Brianvators,

Before tagging any more pages for deletion, please review Criteria for Speedy Deletion so you better understand what the criteria are and when they apply. For example, most of these tags are for article space, not user space and are definitely not for user talk pages. They are also for cases of uncontroversial deletion so if there is any question about the suitability of CSD tagging, consider whether it would be more appropriate to PROD or nominate the page for AFD/TFD/CFD/etc.

Also, every time you tag a page for any kind of deletion, you must post a notice on the talk page the page creator informing them of the tagging. Oftentimes, there are simple problems that the page creator can fix. If you make use of Twinkle, the program will do this for you automatically once you set up your Preferences to "Notify page creator". This program makes things very easy so I recommend you getting used to using it. It will even create a lot for your taggings so you can see how effective your tagging has been and if there are any problems with the selections you are make. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:09, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for giving me an very good advice! DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 14:21, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

Greater Manchester Police

[edit]

The IP editor you reverted this morning for unsourced BLP subsequently added a reference (diff). I determined that even with a reference the contribution was newsworthy, but not encyclopaedic WP:NOTNEWS. I would appreciate you view if you don't mind at Talk:Greater_Manchester_Police#News_not_worth_of_inclusion 10mmsocket (talk) 08:08, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

page speedy deletion

[edit]

I'm sorry who are you exactly and why are you policing foreign pages/articles that have nothing whatsoever to do with you?

before reporting other people's work, please elaborate "It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view" ....says who lol? what advertising? This is crazy Maite Richert (talk) 12:57, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Let me tell you this right now. Your userpage seems to be an autobiography about yourself so that is the reason why I put a speedy deletion on it because your user page violates WP:HOST. I’m not trying to be mean or being rude to you but if you are willing to write a bio of yourself, you would have been Conflict of Interest Edits. DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 13:08, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Important notices

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Am i in trouble or something? DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 13:50, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Hi DFW FAA Brianvators, sorry for the context-less message; I wanted to deliver these notices before addressing each contributor individually. I am concerned about your edit to the page Bobby Kaufmann, which seems to have restored badly sourced, challenged content in violation of multiple policies (WP:BLP, WP:BURDEN/WP:ONUS). I believe that this was simply a misunderstanding as the edits seemed to contain references, but a closer look revealed them to be completely unusable for restoring such claims. So it is clear that this was an accident, and you don't need to worry much about it, if you're a bit more careful in the future. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 13:56, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi DFW FAA Brianvators. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talk) 07:02, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Please make sure you're only rollbacking obvious vandalism. Among some questionable rollbacks, you've made three that are objectively incorrect. This is good faith, as is this, and this is proven correct by a quick Google search. Please make sure that you're using it correctly or it may have to be relinquished. Anarchyte (talk) 16:43, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
Sorry about that. So those three rollbacked edits are wrong? Did i even messed it up or something? DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 17:26, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
Yes, just make sure you're more careful in the future. Anarchyte (talk) 05:33, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

Late reply, and I wasn't involved in this decline, but it would seem it isn't. Ideally we'd have secondary sources that share their opinion based on press releases (primary sources). Regards, User:TheDragonFire300. (Contact me | Contributions). 03:24, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

PC review on Chaz Bono

[edit]

Hi there DFW FAA Brianvators. Could you please explain why you accepted this change on Chaz Bono? Thanks. — Manticore 23:49, 18 December 2021 (UTC)

Hello sir, First of all. I thought an IP Editor had done the constructive edits on the Chaz Bono article. All I did is look up the definition of what it means and I also double check the wording before I accept the edits. DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 02:52, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
However, if I ever a mistake on that Chaz Bono article. You please let me know DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 02:58, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
DFW, that edit was not constructive and you should not have accepted it. "Transvestite" is almost never an ok word to use for describing people, and using it to describe a trans man is especially insulting. Please be more careful in the future. --Blablubbs (talk) 15:11, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
I so fully apologize. I wasn’t even paying attention about what that word is. DFW FAA Brianvators (talk) 16:08, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply DFW FAA Brianvators, and thanks also User:Blablubbs for your comments which I completely agree with. I think that just like editing, reviewing changes is optional. If I'm ever unsure about a change, I'll leave it to someone else to review. Something to consider for your reviewing work in the future. — Manticore 02:57, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
