Sean Lee-Davies is a filmmaker, published photographer and TV host.
Biography
[edit]Sean Lee-Davies was born in Hong Kong and was largely educated and grew up in the UK. He is the eldest son of famous Hong Kong socialite Olivia Lee-Davies and former barrister Peter Davies, and nephew of Shelley Lee (李麗娟), the former Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs.
Career
[edit]2005-2011: Editor and Photojournalist
[edit]Sean was Asia Tatlers[1] Director of Editorial and Photography. With an interest in photography since the age of 12 and the career as a photojournalist, he has been working with world’s top celebrities and public figures including: David Beckham[2], Matthew McConaughey, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Keanu Reeves, Marc Jacobs and Leonardo Di Caprio and Asian celebrities like Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Li Ning, Yao Ming, Zhang Ziyi and Cai Guo Ciang [3].
Over the years, Lee-Davies’ writing and photography has appeared in international publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Sunday Times and International Herald Tribune[4].
2011-present: TV Host and Producer
[edit]Sean left Asia Tatler and started his own film & tv production agency and began his career as a TV host, film director and producer.
He has hosted and directed TV shows in Asia including the hit show Tycoon Talk [5] which was "Highly Commended & Runner Up” for best Regional TV Talk show at Asian TV awards [6] and Adventures to the Edge [7] for TVB a feature documentary and Cancer & The City [8]about young people living with cancer [9].
In addition to TV hosting, Lee-Davies has hosted several balls such as the Tatler Ball as well as events for luxury brands like BMW, Breitling, The Marina Bay Sands, Forevermark, Conrad, The Venetian Macao[10] and IWC[11].
He was also chosen in 2016 to be the 'Drive De Cartier Man' by Cartier[12] and was featured in TVB Live and cover of HK Tatler magazine[13].
Environmental & Endangered Wildlife Activism
[edit]Lee-Davies founded a positive enterprise called Project C:CHANGE[14], the aim of Project C:CHANGE is to change consumer habits to help prevent the destruction of our remaining ecosystems and endangered species in the wild[15], such as called on the Hong Kong government to ban the ivory trade outright [16]and launched Love Is Wild[17][18], a travelling fine art photography exhibition featuring endangered species[19].
Lee-Davies has given two TED X talks about his environmental work in 2013[20] and in 2016[21].
Personal Life
[edit]Sean Lee-Davies was in a relationship with Nicolas Tse's sister, Jennifer Tse from 2013-2014[22] during the Love is Wild project[23].
