2015 Saint-Denis raid

[edit]

@Debresser: @LjL: I think the 2015 Saint-Denis raid should be restored to this template. Notability is something that's permanent on Wikipedia, and the police raid clearly has been deemed as such. While it's linked from the attacks article, it's also its own unique event. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:16, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I never suggested the event isn't notable. But if it is notable enough to be on a very limited list of the most important events in Saint-Denis in all its history, no. Especially since it is linked from the attack article. Debresser (talk) 23:58, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So far only two events are on the ENwiki template. Are there any from FRwiki that have not been linked? Also one important consideration is that Wikipedia only covers what is recorded/published/"verifiable" so if many things happened in Saint-Denis in history but were never recorded/written down and/or the records were lost, they can't be considered. There is no template like this on the French Wikipedia.[1] Debresser (talk) 09:28, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What I would suggest doing is researching Saint-Denis on FRwiki or elsewhere to see if there are any other recorded historical events primarily concerning the commune. If there are, add them to the template. If we get a lot of verifiable historical events (maybe 20 or more) from Saint-Denis then the case for including the raid would be weaker. Good idea. Weaker or stronger? Debresser (talk) 13:07, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Debresser: Ah, I hadn't been back to this convo till now. Anyhow I'm checking FRwiki but I haven't seen particular historical events centered around Saint-Denis. Also, some editors are now removing redlinks from templates and so are only considering topics already on ENwiki (I don't know if there's actually a guideline on this) - There is fr:Chapitre de Saint-Denis but it's only in French. Also it may be possible to make a "History of Saint-Denis" template if/when this one gets too big. WhisperToMe (talk) 13:04, 12 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
