Sub-Categories

[edit]

Among Civilian Honours also, it would be better to have sub-divisions. Hence, re-organising and re-ordering the same. In Sports, I've added Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna at the top as it is the country's highest sporting honour. I've put Dronacharya Award at the end in Sports section for two reasons - i] It is not a sports award and a sports coaching award & ii] No article on that exists yet. Gallantry awards - suggestions pls.

[edit]

hi, Currently the template has the gallantry awards in the order of precedence, i.e. first in war time gallantry (Param Vir Chakra), first in peace time gallantry (Ashoka Chakra), second in war time gallantry (Maha Vir Chakra), second in peace time gallantry (Kirti Chakra) etc. Would it be a better idea to separate them into Gallantry awards - War time followed by Gallantry awards - Peace time?? I thought of doing it myself but since the changes in the template effect changes elsewhere as well, I thought of posing this question on the talk page.---Gurubrahma 13:11, 28 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

National Flag

[edit]

Hi, I've included the national flag in the template for 2 reasons: i) As these are Government of India awards, it would be great if the flag is also visible. ii) Adding colour to the template. Please lend me your sugestions. ---Gurubrahma 14:56, 30 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please no private awards!

[edit]

This template lists only official Government of India honours and awards (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Orders, Decorations, and Medals). Please do not include private awards like Jnanpith Award or Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Awards. Thanks. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 11:43, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
