[edit]ok, someone needs to cite something, anything in this article, there are no citations at all!
also what about the conneciton with the clothing brand? hello?
NPOV?
[edit]The neutrality of this article is arguable. For example in the "Origins of Name" section, all of the graffiti artists are portrayed in a positive light. The whole "Idea" section also makes judgements about people's motivations that are totally unfair, especially without citations or reasoning.--70.90.239.142 19:47, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
I can add a bit of light here. I happen to add to Wikipedia from time to time and also know the principals in this instance. Note that I did not write graffiti with these people, and agree that the articles paint the artists in a largely positive light, but that doesn't really matter with respect to the central issue of the origin of the term "zoo york".
Ali (Marc Edmonds) did indeed coin the term in the late seventies. The clothing line is owned by a different person entirely. Frankly, I was always shocked there was no lawsuit. Marc Edmonds did design shirts and skatebords with the logo on it, a takeoff of the "DogTown" logo from Santa Monica. Marc is dead now, but if his estate were to sue the clothing company, I couldn't imagine them losing. Except that they would need documentation that they had established the mark and used it in commerce.
Anyway, there isn't a lot of documentation on this era, which is why someone cited the New York magazine article and that remains the only citation. I'll look for more.

yeah i see the problems cited regarding lack of neutrality and balance in the article BUT it is superbly written and deeply insightful. don't degrade the quality while doing future editing! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.250.176.112 (talk) 07:59, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Moved as proposed. BD2412 T 02:47, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Zoo York → Zoo York (Central Park) – This entirely unsourced article about a graffiti hotspot in New York City gets about 5x fewer pageviews than Zoo York (company) and is thus not the primary topic. Recommend a dab page at Zoo York. 162 etc. (talk) 15:57, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom, enough said. Not even one reference on the "primary topic" as well. Lazz_R 18:23, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom, DAB at page name.--Ortizesp (talk) 05:29, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support this may be primary by long-term significance but its not by usage, 1,844 views for the company compared with only 337 for this[[1]] and as noted other than further reading it doesn't have any sources. Move Zoo York (song) here per WP:INCDAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 10:14, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
