Confusing story
[edit]- He sang leading roles at the Royal Opera House and elsewhere from the 1930s to the 1950s.
- After the war he became Principal Tenor at the Royal Opera House, ...
- He sang major tenor roles from 1951 to 1953 ....
So, he sang "leading roles" for 20 years (the 1930s through the 1950s), and he was "Principal Tenor" from c. 1945, but only sang "major roles" for the three years 1951-53.
Is a "leading role" not necessarily a "major role"? And what does a "Principal Tenor" sing if not leading and/or major roles? -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 22:59, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
