Financial success?
[edit]What would be the reason for declaring the film a financial success? For doing that, we would have to know the production costs which have certainly been higher than the meager half million that the film took in. --Bernardoni (talk) 16:50, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
Despite receiving mixed reviews from film critics, the film was positively welcomed from audiences who praised its story, emotional weight, cast performances (especially those of Rylance and Depp), musical score, the tone, action scenes, the screenplay, and the directing while also becoming a financial success grossing $761,361 at the box-office. There are no sources for either claims (financial success and positive audience reception). The film was clearly a box office disaster and no one particularly liked it. I'd bet money that this was added by the director or a producer of the film. I somehow doubt Coetzee is behind it.
You made a lacklustre film, guys. Move on.
I'm removing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.175.101.35 (talk) 11:53, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
I have removed that part of the paragraph for now, because it would confuse people as to how the film was a financial success if its budget is not given. If there is a source giving a budget for this film, I will state the budget and then restore that sentence which says this film was a financial success.
