Politics section
[edit]There a section about politics that stands out as odd for an article about a county. Some editors have been adding unsourced original research to it. The table give statistics for Presidential elections only (why not Senate, House, local offices, etc.?) and only as far back as 1960. This is arbitrary, and not a well-rounded synopsis of Volusia County politics.
Before I remove this section, I would like to hear from some other editors.- MrX 12:30, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
- Removed. This section has become a magnet for original research and WP:RECENTISM.- MrX 13:52, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- There has been no discussion justifying this section, and especially the content focused on the most recent election sourced to one newspaper article. I willing to be convinced that this information is relevant to the article, and that it doesn't violate WP:DUEWEIGHT but that will require discussion. The content should not be restored until there is WP:CONSENSUS to do so.- MrX 13:11, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Volusia County, Florida
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Volusia County, Florida's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "Census":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 17:08, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
