Relocated? Multiple copies?
[edit]I just saw this sculpture along the Malecon in Zona Romantica, I think in the small plaza at the end of Pulpito. Can anyone confirm if the statue was relocated, or if multiple copies are installed? This location differs from the one mentioned in sources currently used as citations in the article. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:34, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
- I highly doubt there are multiple copies. I found this that said it was restored along with several other works. It also mentions that the Lorena Ochoa statue and the Nature as Mother sculpture were relocated. I want to assume that you saw it here (where that shark/dolphin-like statue is located at the end of Púlpito Street). But there is no news about that at the moment. Maybe later someone decides to write about it if something relevant happens there. (CC) Tbhotch™ 01:45, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Tbhotch Yes, your assumption re: location is correct. That's where I saw the sculpture. Thanks for investigating. I'll try to upload an image under fair use soon. ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:45, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- Why fair use? (CC) Tbhotch™ 02:52, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Tbhotch: Oh! Not necessary for public artworks in Mexico? ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:08, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- We have freedom of panorama for artistic works that can be seen from a public space (the concept of "public" is vague but it is assumed to mean an open-to-public space). The recommended but not mandatory template is Commons:Template:FoP-Mexico (for further information, refer to Commons:COM:FOP Mexico). (CC) Tbhotch™ 03:25, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Tbhotch Great, thanks! I'll likely be uploading hundreds of various photographs in the near future. ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:29, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. (CC) Tbhotch™ 03:35, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Tbhotch Do you think we should add coordinates for the current location, or would that be original research? ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:57, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- I don't know. The article doesn't even mention its former location. (CC) Tbhotch™ 15:19, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Tbhotch True. Ok, for now I've added an image with a caption mentioning Zona Romántica, so I've also added the Zona Romántica category and template. Ideally, the article would have a source confirming the current location, but I'd rather the article be up to date even if there's some 'original research' here. Also, I will try to get a better image uploaded soon, but for now this is better than nothing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:48, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- Technically speaking, it is not supposed to be unsourced unpublished original research. Anyone visiting Zona Romántica and the former location can verify this (Wikipedia:Likely to be challenged). (CC) Tbhotch™ 17:59, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

I can confirm there are multiple copies of this sculpture. In addition to the statue in Zona Romantica, there's one installed outdoors in Centro and I've also seen copies in a gallery in Centro (see photos below):
@Tbhotch: Pinging only in case you are interested, per discussion above. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:30, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
