Why shouldn't we add Ethan as co-director and Joel as a producer to the infobox?

[edit]

I understand the argument that some editors believe that uncredited people shouldn't be added to the infobox, but I believe that they should deserve the credit that's due. I have seen lots of examples both on Wikipedia and on other websites of people thinking only Joel directed all their films until 2004, and I believe that Wikipedia should fix this misconception by stating the truth of their equal contributions. Do you feel it's not enough that the first sentence of the page mentions that both brothers did everything?
I'm not an expert on this, but I expect other editors might say that it's not Wikipedia's job to correct misconceptions or give people their due. Those aren't my words, they're just what I expect would be said by other editors I've talked to. Wafflewombat (talk) 05:01, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
