YouTube Activism

[edit]

This segment of the Wiki...

"Recently, TMS Entertainment has been removing Sonic X AMVs off YouTube due to "copyright infringement". in fact anything that has to do with Sonic is being removed from the website. People have to report about TMS' plan to shut down Sonic on youtube!"

...doesn't seem very neutral. I don't approve of YouTube's scattershot approach to dealing with copyright violations either, but I don't feel this really belongs in what's supposed to be an objective online resource. - M.Neko

Logos

[edit]

Could anyone please upload one or both of the Tokyo Movie Shinsha logos onto the Wikipedia? --Ryanasaurus007 00:29, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

TMS logo added by me. Edits to the list:

  • Re: Cybersix

"(English dubbed version)" -- It's a Canadian cartoon with animation contracted to TMS (Telecom), produced in English, dialogue later dubbed for the Japanese market.

  • Re: Fox's Peter Pan

"Peetah Pan No Boken..." -- Incorrect. This title refers to an entirely different Peter Pan cartoon produced by Nihon Animation in 1989.

"... (aka Fox's Peter Pan, 1st season only, seasons 2 & 3 are done in South Korea)" -- Incorrect. TMS also animated the season 2 two-part episode titled "The Ages of Pan".

  • Re: Detective Conan & Monster Rancher

"... (Only done because of Inspector Gadget)" "... (Only done because of Pokemon which is done by OLM)"

-- What does that mean? It sounds like an apology, haha. Instead write "(created as a market response to ....)", if this is what you're implying... although that still sounds unnecessarily apologetic. In the case (no pun intended) of Detective Conan, perhaps you mean the concept was fashioned after their work on Inspector Gadget?

We also want the 1964 Tokyo Movie Shinsha logo, please. --Ryanasaurus0077 01:31, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mean the capitalized "TMS" from the first half of the 1980s morphing logo? Graphically, that isn't much to look at on its own. (If there's another, older version of the logo, I'm not familiar with it.) Or perhaps you're referring to this logo? http://www.tms-e.co.jp/index2.html Company information and history are outlined on this webpage, if someone is available to translate: http://www.tms-e.co.jp/company/index.html (...See menu links along left for more.) ~ GALVATRON 01:27, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just upload the TMS logo you mentioned at the beginning of your latest post here please! --Ryanasaurus0077 00:32, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, but you'll have to wait a while for it because I don't have access to that computer ATM. By the way, use multiple colons to indent for replies on Talk pages, not asterisk bullet points. ~ GALVATRON 10:14, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TMS Confusion

[edit]

Somehow the website (Telecom Anime) has some inaccurate info but since it is the only source, I think anyone should be cautionous taking info from there (will use DuckTales as an example for this).

E.g. I had to email TMS to correct a series spelling (TMS spelt Duck Tales as Duck Tails until I had to corrected them) | Before the correction |After the correction and speaking of the show, the site lists as only doing Ep 20 & 21 but the credits says every episode (bar some of Season 2 and 3) so basically:

There should be a huge mention that they have a subsidary called Telecom Anime who have done the episodes listed on their website. E.g.

Duck Tales (Episode 20 and 21 were done by Telecom Anime, most were done by TMS Entertainment except some were by Wang and Cuckoo's Nest).

I am actually confused on both knowledge and their website, any help? Yawachary 22:33, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I too am confuzzled. I can't find any info on any of their American works (besides a couple. But I'm really interested in Transformers G1, Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog and a few others) Philipnova798 (talk) 22:11, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It happened again

[edit]

somebody edited the page again with that movie thing... again. Can someone re-edit this again? I have school in a bit Philipnova798 (talk) 10:52, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland

[edit]

Does Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland belong in the theatrical films section or the foreign productions section? The reason I'm asking is because the film was a Japanese-American co-production. 71.95.53.89 (talk) 01:13, 5 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It should be listed under domestic productions, rather than foreign, as it is a co-production and TMS is a production partner on the show. Mighty Orbots and Galaxy High should as well (though the last is more American than Japanese, TMS produced it themselves, however). I think the complications arise due to the fact TMS is a studio that has co-produced a number of shows with western studios in the past on top of the outsourced works, compared to most companies. Some of these productions, admittedly, were just outsourced works, while others were definitely co-productions. Because of this, I'd definitely consider anything that TMS has a production credit on that isn't just outsourced work to be one of these productions. This includes Reporter Blues, Soccer Fever, and Ulysses 31, as well as other shows and movies I may have not listed. Mendinso (talk) 22:03, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

TOMS or TMS Photo?

[edit]

I noticed the article uses TMS Photo, but I've seen both spellings used for this. TMS's url uses TMS Photo, for instance, but the actual page uses TOMS Photo (or Tomsphoto in that particular instance). For instance, Sonic X's International masters, which TMS prepped themselves, uses this. So, which should we use? Mendinso (talk) 21:59, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Call of the Primitives credit

[edit]

As far as I know, there hasn't been anything to confirm or deny TMS' involvement in the making of the Transformers episode, outside of mere speculation. 108.57.84.72 (talk) 09:59, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Concerns with citations...

[edit]

I've looked into the article of TMS Entertainment and I am very concerned about the lack of citations. Now I'm not doubting the research that has been done about the company, however, the lack of citations means that certain segments of the article cannot be fact checked. In response to this, I've added direct links to the Japanese pages of TMS Entertainment and Telecom Animation (a subsidiary of TMS Entertainment). If anyone is proficient in translating Japanese and is good with finding sources, please use those native pages to improve the information that has been provided to TMS Entertainment. Tokyo Movie Shinsha origins

[edit]

"The Japanese version of the official company history page http://www.tms-e.co.jp/company/history/index.php is much more detailed than its English counterpart http://www.tms-e.co.jp/english/company/profile/. I won't spend my time translating all the lines here, but rather pick up the lines that mentions Sega.

  • Heisei 4 (1992), August : Formed capital and business alliance with Sega Enterprises
  • Heisei 17 (2005), October : Sega Sammy Holdings is now the parent company
  • Heisei 22 (2010), December : Becomes wholly owned subsidiary of Sega Sammy Holdings
  • Heisei 27 (2015), April : Wholly owned subsidiary of Sega Holdings"

Otanjōbi Series?

[edit]

I can't find anything on the internet about a 1995 OVA called Otanjōbi Series. Is it real or is it vandalism? 71.95.63.155 (talk) 17:37, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If it's not available on this template then you can get rid of it. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 18:47, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

tms entertainment/telecom animation film has worked on anime produced by other studios

[edit]

so, the studio has apparantly outsourced their work to other anime studios, can anyone help with that and add that to the main article?:

here are a list of non tms/telecom anime that the company has worked on:

Studio Ghibli:

MadHouse:

Sunrise, BN Pictures:

  • Inuyasha (TV series, 2000-2004)
  • Steamboy (Theatrical Work, 2004)
  • Yakitate!! Japan (TV series, 2004-2006)
  • Yukishi (TV series, 2006-2008)
  • King of Thorn (Theatrical Work, 2010)
  • Aikatsu! (TV series, 2012-) Up to 50 episodes are not production cooperation for each story, but production cooperation through the series. After that, we cooperated in the production of each story.
  • Theatrical version of Aikatsu! (Theatrical work, 2014)

Bonds Productions:

GONZO Productions:

Production I.G:

Stargate universe

[edit]

Please can you make and carry on the the Stargate universe series. There are so many followers of this show and it was cut short at only series 2 . This show needs to be continued and I know there are so many people that would love to see it done. It’s been too long now to restart it with the real actors so an animated series would probably be the best solution. After watching resident evil series that you have had a hand in I think this type of animated series would work well. Save stargate universe (talk) 08:51, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Proper name for TMS credits?

[edit]

Since the studio and its subsidiaries have gone under many different versions of its name, should we have a set standard for how the company should be credited? Or do we just go by what it's called in the credits of the show/film itself? Harryhenry1 (talk) 03:51, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Split into two?

[edit]

Is it possible if we could split the TMS Entertainment article into two, one for the (pre-1995) TMS studio (Tokyo Movie Shinsha) while the other is retained for Kyokuichi's history prior to the TMS merger. The Japanese wikipedia has an article on the Tokyo Movie division of TMS which lasted until 1993. VenezuelanSpongeBobFan2004 (talk) 22:00, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
