i've been changing the grammar, but it keeps reverting for some reason

[edit]

i thought the articles need grammatical changes.

What is it that i need to do in order to fix this article.

[edit]

This article has intense grammatical error such as run-on sentences and punctuation. I tried changing but it keeps getting reverted back. I am sure my changes to the article really is better than the original content. Whoever keep changing the content should stop.

Many of the edits that you seem to be making on this page (I didn't look through the previous ones beyond the last two reverts, if you have made more) either are not in fact improving grammar, or even possibly making the grammar a little worse, or you are changing the meaning of a statement in the article by altering the sentence structure of word choice. There was also an WP:NPOV issue in the edit that I reverted which involved the use of the phrase "of the many" as well as "Today Shunde is becoming one of the wealthiest counties in Guangdong, and even in mainland China, according..." Examples of grammar changes you made that I reverted include:
  • "like" is not a better substitute for "such as
  • combining separate sentences with joining words such as "and" creating longer run on sentences.
I placed a post on [[User talk:Bigbang1994|your talk page] just now with a few links and Wikipedia resources that you may find helpful in guiding you through the process of Wikipedia editing. As another note: sometimes it is beneficial to make edits in smaller chunks if there has been reverting and controversy. This can sometimes make it easier to distinguish the particular issue. However, this does not seem to be the issue from what I have seen in your edits on the page. -Aaron Booth (talk) 23:09, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This in particular was wrong and WP:INCOMPETENT; please read what a prefecture-level city is. In general, technical terms should not be altered in such a carefree manner. Also "City", when referring to specific places that are officially designated as cities (not simply because a Geo-Name server arbitrarily claims so), is a proper noun. This is such basic grammar that I question whether you, Bigbang1994, stand competent to copyedit East Asian geographic articles. GotR Talk 01:06, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possible connection to Jardine Matheson Company

[edit]

My great-great grandmonther, born about 1830-1835 in Shunde, married Colin Shaw Matheson who may have been in Shunde on silk business for the Jardine Matheson Company. 71.178.240.176 (talk) 16:28, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
