Shosoin is a proper noun
[edit]Shosoin is today a proper noun that specifically means only the treasure house at Todai-ji. This is the likely cause of some confusion seen in the previous text.
Referrals to the treasure houses (called 宝物庫 etc. in Japanese) at other temples are removed from this page.
The second sentence is still open for review. --OhMyDeer 05:06, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Agree. Imperial House Agency uses SHOSOIN, so we should use SHOSOIN as term. See: http://shosoin.kunaicho.go.jp/
Mistake in article
[edit]“The Shōsō-in is also the only building to survive the Siege of Nara in the Heian period.”
This is incorrect. Another building in the Tōdai-ji temple, the Tegaimon Gate, also survived the war. 106.132.238.37 (talk) 01:47, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
