Someone with more confidence than grasp of nuance moved Palace of Caserta to Caserta Palace..." like other palaces around the world that use the english term "palace" in the title". Such as Versaillespalace and Louvrepalace, no doubt. --Wetman 16:31, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks are due to User:Gryffindor for making the change back that I'd not dared to.--Wetman (talk) 18:30, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Total surface

[edit]

In the network there are in fact only information about the encumbrance of the structure itself, ie 47000 square meters (the royal palace has in fact a side of 247 meters in length and the other of 190 meters, for a result precisely of 46930 square meters) This result however it should be multiplied by the 5 floors of the palace, to arrive at a more probable result of 160 thousand square meters approximately. This figure was obtained by subtracting the 47.000 square meters overall size of the 15000 square meters of the four inner courts (each 3848 square meters wide, being side rectangles of 74x52 meters) obtaining the "net" surface of each plan, ie 31600 meters. 31600 square meters for 5 floors it gives a result of 160 thousand square meters approximately. To get a sense of the enormous size of the Palace unjustly considered to 47,000 square meters, the Palace of Versailles in France has "only" 67 thousand square meters, ie not even half of the surface summarily calculated by me of 160 thousand square meters, or with the Royal Palace in Madrid, also of five floors and with a nominal surface of 135 thousand square meters, but Caserta is visibly larger. 82.57.17.215 (talk) 00:34, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, in most of the building there are large rooms that occupy 2 floors (clearly visible from the section), as well as the gallery on the ground floor. I think the real floor area is a lot less than 160 thousand square meters.--Podz00 (talk) 19:58, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
