5x expanded by Goroth (talk) and ZappaOMatic (talk). Nominated by ZappaOMatic (talk) at 07:00, 14 May 2020 (UTC).[reply]

  • Claiming this nomination for review and will try to complete this within the next few days, but as I mentioned in the Popipa nom, it's unlikely that the request to feature both on the main page at the same time will be granted as they're from the same topic, unless Popipa and Roselia get featured as part of a double hook. This is also just as a suggestion, but I wonder if it could be appropriate to have the hook go up on June 1, the second anniversary of the final concert of former Roselia bassist Yurika Endō. Would you be okay with that ZappaOMatic? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:26, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If we keep the noms separate, I wouldn't be opposed to June 1 as a possible date (most band-related dates are too far out by comparison; the closest I could think of is "Re:birthday" being released in late June). Double hook suggested at the PoPiPa nom, but for consistency, I'll also provide it here: ZappaMatic 19:50, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • ALT2: ... that the members of the bands Poppin'Party and Roselia are voice actresses in the BanG Dream! anime series who could play their characters' instruments in live concerts?
  • The 5x expansion requirement is met. The double hook mentioning both Roselia and Poppin'Party is probably the only suitable option here as the first two hooks are either not unique or may not interest non-BanG Dream fans. The double hook is cited inline (AGF for Japanese source); however, I'd suggest duplicating the footnote after the semi-colon in that paragraph as well for DYK verification purposes. As I mentioned in the other nomination, I'll also be requesting a second opinion from a non-anime fan on its meeting the "interesting to a broad audience" criterion. No close paraphrasing was found, a QPQ remains pending. I have two related concerns about the article at this moment: similar to the Popipa article, the section focusing on the in-universe plot is fairly long and could probably be reduced to a summary with a link to the List of BanG Dream! characters (as right now the section seems redundant to that article). However, if this is shortened, I'm worried that the article may no longer meet the 5x expansion requirement and thus would be ineligible for DYK; due to this, I'll be asking for a second opinion from an editor who's better versed in expansion requirements if the article could still meet the 5x requirement if this rewrite happens. @Nikkimaria: What are your thoughts on this scenario? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:13, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Narutolovehinata5, do you have a sense of how much of a "summary" would be left? The Roselia page would not have a 5x expansion if the section was entirely removed, but it's harder to say definitively if you're planning a lesser cut. The other was only moved to mainspace 12 May so should be eligible as a new article either way; even a total removal would leave it with over the minimum of 1500 characters. Nikkimaria (talk) 11:23, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nikkimaria: I had been thinking of that section being changed to something more like a plot summary: instead of detailed in-universe explanations of each character, perhaps just a short summary about each character and notable events happened to them in the series, as well as perhaps a description of the band's in-universe characterization (meaning a plot summary of what Roselia did in the anime and perhaps in other media in the franchise). The thought I had is that the section could probably consist of no more than three or four paragraphs. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:29, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like a trim is in process so I will wait to see how that turns out. Nikkimaria (talk) 03:01, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Changed primary genre from gothic rock to alternative rock

[edit]

Just here to note that I changed the band's primary listed genre from Gothic Rock to Alternative Rock, as the band does not have any Gothic Rock influence or sound in their music. The band varies a bit in regards to musical content, but generally consist of Alternative Rock, J-Rock, J-Pop, and Symphonic Metal. As an explanation to any sources that quote them as Gothic Rock (Though, I could only find one in the citations), the band are part of the Visual Kei movement, and their specific aesthetic is much more gothic in nature. That being said, aesthetic doesn't have any bearing on musical genre, and there was no mention of the band's gothic aesthetics on the page itself. I presume any western publications on the band that cite them as Gothic Rock are slightly misinterpreting the emphasis the band has on gothic aesthetics and conflating that with the genre of Gothic Rock, despite the band having no connection to said genre (Which is an understandable subject of confusion). I would also potentially encourage more of a direct reference to their aesthetics being primarily gothic inspired in the article somewhere, I'm simply very new to the website and as such don't want to make any major structural changes or larger additions to articles quite yet. Hopefully this is helpful!

@Draerkaz: I initially reverted before noticing you explained your case here, but you're good, don't worry. They're definitely gothic visually than musically, and the source you are likely referring to (HIDIVE) only refers to their aesthetic as gothic ("Their aesthetic style leans heavily on Japanese Visual Kei [...]. The members of Roselia wear matching gothic dresses while performing their musical numbers"); I think I misinterpreted it when writing this article and lumped their music in too.
