Make the article shorter

[edit]

I am somewhat surprised that this article is not shorter: the whole list of technical specs - is that what Wikipedia is really for? Ligtvoet (talk) 12:40, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that's what Wikipedia is for. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Comparison of Roku boxes for why it's here. BilCat (talk) 00:19, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I find myself referring to those specs often. I'm thankful they're there. Jyork23 (talk) 14:46, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Version 14 disastrous rollout

[edit]

A few weeks ago, Roku deployed version 14 to its devices, all without the knowledge or consent of its customers. Unfortunately, anyone using a Roku device to feed Tablo 4th Gen DVR signals into the HDMI input of older TVs thereby lost all audio output.

This issue has dragged on for weeks with no resolution in sight. Here's more info: https://community.roku.com/t5/Issue-Tracking-Board/Underinvestigation-Issues-with-Tablo-TV-Channel-Not-Scanning-Local-Channels/m-p/1002256/highlight/true#M4536

Should this controversy be added as a topic to the article? I could do so, but I might not have enough mastery of the technical jargon to do the best job updating the article. If others could add a paragraph about it, that would be best. Thanks. Art Smart Chart/Heart 18:52, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Instead of updating this article, I more specifically updated the Roku OS article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Roku_OS&diff=1252237634&oldid=1247615307 Art Smart Chart/Heart 13:28, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
