Expansion on the article

[edit]

I fail to understand why this is a standalone article. Yes, I get that the quantity of citations isn't as high as the other character pages, however, Riku has been playable in two Kingdom Hearts games and has been involved in all of the Kingdom Hearts games (even Sora was not directly involved with 358/2 Days). I see this as a favoritism issue honestly. Just to clarify, I'm not against the revert because I made the edit, I'm against the revert because this could easily have the opportunity to have enough citations as a standalone article yet nobody is willing to make the effort to do that. It's not about importance within the series but instead as the character failing to pass WP:Notability. In order for a character to obtain notability, we need third party sources that comment about him. See Sora (Kingdom Hearts)#Reception as an example of a model we should follow. I once tried searching for sources for Riku but found nothing. Also, avoid having bad faith in other editors. Dissident is aware of why the character fails to pass notability.Tintor2 (talk) 22:57, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not having bad faith in order editors though, you reverted the article edit and Dissident reverted the template edit. I didn't undo either of those edits, I'm just saying that there may be more sources about Riku now. Again, he's been playable in two games, pretty sure there's enough citations for him to have a standalone article because of that. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 10:20, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
WP:SOFIXIT then. If you are willing to properly source the article then do it, and create the article, otherwise it shouldn't exist. P.S. The proper location for the article is Riku (Kingdom Hearts), so if you do create it, it should be moved there.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 12:14, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing that matters here is whether or not there are enough sources dedicated specifically to Riku to meet the WP:GNG. Outside of the fact that main playable characters are probably more likely to receive more dedicated coverage from third party sources, it does not matter how many games she was playable or present in. The only way you're going to be able to persuade people is by presenting some third party sources (like those found at WP:VG/S) that are specifically dedicated to Riku. Not passing mentions of her name, or small quotes cut from game reviews, but sources covering here in significant detail. Sergecross73 msg me 14:37, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If an article can be created, and pass WP:GNG, then that is all that matters. A cersury inspection doesn't seem likely, but I suppose that's always true with character pages. I found Nowloading.com, and this piece from Kotaku. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 16:32, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, I reverted on the template because you need a standalone article for inclusion in a navbox. There isn't currently one, so it shouldn't have been added. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:02, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
