Why is this up for deletion? It is sourced and a piece of a discography of a band with 6 album releases. There are pages on Wikipedia for non-charting, iTunes-only releases, but this is up for deletion? Cyrip (talk) 17:26, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:NALBUMS "An album requires its own notability, and that notability is not inherited and requires independent evidence. That an album is an officially released recording by a notable musician or ensemble is not by itself reason for a standalone article. " Gaijin42 (talk) 17:31, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have added an announcement from the band that it on official release. Is that the confusion? That this is some fan made compilation? Cyrip (talk) 17:48, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --Cyrip (talk) 17:44, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What can we remove to make it less promotional? I am confused. Isn't any page on Wikipedia about an album promotional? I am building reviews, information about the album, etc. Cyrip (talk) 17:44, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Adding reviews will help, especially if the reviews aren't all one sided. Also, if the reviews arent done by people that just mass review every album in the genre. However, as the album is unreleased, and is limited to a total of 1000 people ever buying it, WP:N is a difficult barrier in this situation. Gaijin42 (talk) 17:48, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the NME.com review is good, so I can leave it off for the moment if that is too promotional. As the release date gets closer some average/negative reviews will likely surface. I also removed verbiage about where to buy the album, if that is deemed problematic. Usually when I build album pages I add reviews as they come in (I build various indie music pages), and keep things partial (see: Only in Dreams (album) for an example of a reviews section I build]]) Cyrip (talk) 17:58, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your good faith effort here. But I think the article is unlikely to survive at this time (pre-release) - that would be up to some admin to decide if the CSD qualifies. After the other reviews come out, then you could try and recreate. If you create it fully, including the references, that will help avoid getting deleted again right away. Ok, noted for future creation of album pages. Wasn't aware that this could happen. Cyrip (talk) 18:06, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
