Where is the data stored?

[edit]

When something is "loaded on the card", is it actually stored on the card itself, or does the card merely provide a unique ID and the attached data is stored in a central database? —Naddy (talk) 14:45, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Add Presto Controversy

[edit]

Presto has been subject to many headlines, especially with the TTC. This includes presto gates failing, being subject to hacks, miscalculated fares on TTC, etc...

Is it appropriate to add a separate section such as Presto Incidents or Controversy?

"Controversy" sections are, well, controversial. It's better to include (properly sourced) mention of any such incidents or coverage within the existing article where appropriate. This is addressed in WP:NPOV, specifically in WP:POVNAMING, WP:STRUCTURE, and WP:UNDUE. I would advise against a separate section given the NPOV policy but if properly sourced and widely covered by reliable sources, mention of issues with Presto is fine. —Joeyconnick (talk) 06:39, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

TTC participation

[edit]

I propose moving the section Presto card#TTC participation to a new section, TTC fares#History#Presto fare media, in order to keep Toronto Presto history together. Entries in the rollout table (Presto card#Rollout)and a few other entries elsewhere would remain in the Presto card article. Thus, when a Presto event becomes history in TTC fares, we would move it to TTC fares#History#Presto fare media instead of Presto card#TTC participation. I would add Toronto Transit Commission fares to Presto card#See also. Any comments? TheTrolleyPole (talk) 20:16, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Where in Toronto Transit Commission fares#History are you proposing to put the "Presto fare media" section? I assume at the end since it's the most recent type of fare media? Anyway, I would keep the "TTC participation" section heading here, but migrate the content and add {{see also|Toronto Transit Commission fares#Presto fare media}} to that section. —Joeyconnick (talk) 20:51, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done as per above suggestions. TheTrolleyPole (talk) 02:04, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
