Characters (variations and so on)

[edit]

This section should be edited to note platform-specific characters (as well as the ships part and so on should), because some versions do NOT have the ships, the costume variations or some of the unlockable characters, like Wyvern and Murtogg. This currently just makes it look like all the versions had the same things. --84.250.14.143 21:37, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Characters?

[edit]

I was reading on the back of the cover of it, as they had it here as coming soon. But on the cover, they only said you can play as Jack, Elizabeth and Will, no Barbossa or creating your own pirate. So, what I'm getting at is where is that information supplied at? Captain Drake Van Hellsing 07:34, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, there is no "create a pirate." Only in the online game. You play as Barbossa only for a cannon game, not as a major charector. ~SerpentsTail~ 18:18, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Guys, Barbossa is a playable character, at least in PC (and, by extension, PS2) version. You control Barbossa in Singapore and in Davy Jones' Locker.
No, you only play asJack, Will and Elizabeth as far as I know, and like I stated first, no Barbossa. That is clearly what I read on the back of the cover. However, that was on the back of the PS2 and Xbox 360 covers, as they didn't have the cover for the PC as far as I know, and in both the PS2 and 360, only the three, no Barbossa at all. If you were to play as Barbossa on those levels, it would've stated it never the less. But until it is released and have been played, it should only be kept to Jack, Will and Elizabeth really. I have the PSP verson and you do play as Barbossa. You control him in Singapore, Davy Jones' Locker and Shipwreck city.Metropod 23:05, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The Wii version's back cover also only mentions Jack, Will and Elizabeth ("Play as Captain Jack, Will and Elizabeth to unleash a variety of attacks!"), and makes no mention of Barbossa. However, having played the game, I can say that Barbossa is playable during the story mode nevertheless. As well, various other characters are technically playable (unlockable), such as Sao Feng, Davy Jones, Gibbs, Captain Teague, and a lot of others (67 in all, including the ones playable in the story mode playthrough), though not during a playthrough of the story mode (unlockable characters can be used for the replay level, dueling and challenge modes). And quoting IGN ("Speaking of all those side characters, gamers will apparently be able to unlock them as they adventure through the quest, at which point they will become selectable for the main mode."), as well as 1Up ("There will be tons of characters to unlock, and any level can be replayed as any of them."), for corroboration of sorts, I suppose that leaves the question of how to present such information (67 characters seems like a bit much to list... and there's stuff like "Pirate 1" and "Townsfolk 4" too). I'd suggest something to the effect of "numerous unlockable characters"; the section could probably also be converted to prose to manage better, I suppose, and more adequately describe this. Mm... thoughts? – mcy1008 (talk) 05:57, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've taken out "Your Mom" as a playable character. Funny, haven't encountered her yet. If I do, I'll be sure to put her back. :P —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.202.66.68 (talk) 15:03, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS3 Barbossa

[edit]

I have played the game on PS3 and have used Barbossa during normal gameplay, therefore I am adding PS3 to systems he is playable on.

  • If PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are the same, then Barbossa should've been in Xbox 360 version too. But, I don't have that version, so, let us wait for someone who has and can confirm it :)
  • Not to be rude, but why wait for a person with the 360 version if it's the same game as PS3? What I'm saying is if I've played as him on PS3, then just add 360.
I've been playing the 360 version and in the booklet, it says you can play as Barbossa, and I have played as Gibbs on the Black Pearl fighting Marccus. However, I'm not sure how many characters are in it all up. Captain Drake Van Hellsing Savvy? 05:44, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Playable characters section

[edit]

It needs to be redone. I have the PS3 version and I have beaten it. I can't do most of those things. Keep in mind there is more than one version of this game. I think we could do it some what like the playable characters section in the, Spider-man 3 video game, article —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.3.2.2 (talk) 01:46, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, what's currently in that section is true of the Wii version and differences haven't been put in yet, so please add information about version-specific differences if you can. (I personally haven't played the other versions, so I wouldn't be able to do so myself.) – mcy1008 (talk) 01:55, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've played the 360 version and you can play as Jack, Will, Elizabeth and Barbossa, as well as Gibbs (Flying Dutchman level), Pintel and Ragetti (Isla de Curses(sp?)). As for others, not too sure just yet. Captain Drake Van Hellsing Savvy? 04:35, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That goes for PS3 aswell.

Villanueva's forename

[edit]

Since it reveals Eduardo as Villanueva's forename, does anyone know if Ching's, Chevalle's, Jocard's, Ammand's or Sumbhajee's firstnames are also shown? Therequiembellishere 04:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
