List of LDCs, landlocked countries and islands

[edit]

The article lists LDCs, landlocked countries and islands as they appear in the Cotonou agreement. However, since the signature of the agreement in 2000, Cape Verde has gratuated from LDC status (2007) while other countries such as Senegal (2001) and Timor-Leste (2003) have become LDCs. The agreement has been updated in 2005 and 2010, but the annex VI has not been changed. Thus, the list as it appears in the 2010 consolidated version of the agreement corresponds to the one before I made some changes. However, it may mislead some users thinking that this corresponds to the actual list of ACP LDCs and islands (the list of landlocked countries is correct). So the question is: which list should be presented? Should we present the actual list of LDCs (and islands), indicating below that the list in the Cotonou agreement is slightly different, or should we do the converse: presenting the list as it appears in the agreement and mention that the actual list of countries is different? I propose the latter solution. Feel free to make changes. Ydecreux (talk) 19:45, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
