Canadian air date before U.S.
[edit]Since Canada (Global TV) airs the episodes one day before the U.S., should the original air date be set to Canada instead? It's a editwar going on about this issue. perolavbr (talk) 22:53, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- Let me fix that. --Davejohnsan (talk) 23:16, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- Done, and my apologies for wrongly reverting those edits. --Davejohnsan (talk) 23:39, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Recurring Characters
[edit]Scott Wolf appeared in 9x1 and is set to reappear in 9x12. What's the criteria for mentioning a recurring character? --Asoofi (talk) 09:09, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, of course! -- 91.66.20.74 (talk) 12:43, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
Articles from episodes
[edit]I'm thinking about trying to write some articles from episodes in this season, but don't quite know if there is possible to do so. Given the rule about size of plot, production and reception, I think it's impossible to have them about equal at this time. I've already created 3 articles from past seasons ("Yankee White", "Twilight" and "A Man Walks inta a Bar..."), but in these I've had support from DVDs with interviews. Articles from How I Met Your Mother doesn't follow this rule, just adding some trivia instead. Another "problem" is my lack of fluent English, which make the articles a bit weak. Any thoughts about this? Jonny2BeGood (talk) 16:24, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
- As with any article, episode articles require sufficient sources to establish notability. None of the articles that you've created so far do that. I suggest working on the existing articles so that notability is firmly established before creating any more. --AussieLegend (talk) 16:44, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, then I'll try to do that instead Jonny2BeGood (talk) 15:36, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
A suggestion
[edit]Not sure if this is the right place to put it, but there is not reason at all to capitalize any part of "ex-fiancée" (in the description of episode 15). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.77.108.9 (talk) 10:58, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- You're correct, although the word used was "Ex-fiancé", which has been fixed along with the incorrect capitalisation. --AussieLegend (talk) 14:03, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Sasha Alexander edit in "Life before my eyes"
[edit]Sasha Alexander did not make a uncredited appearence in the show, they used file footage from Season 2 episode "SWAK" to add her in there. She is wearing the same pajama's from SWAK, and has a red nose as if she has a cold from "SWAK", and the dialoge was original to "SWAK". Other footage on the rooftop had to be filmed at time "Twilight" was made for Season 2, because why remake one scene "on the rooftop" and not make a new scene "at the hospital with Tony's baby"? Doesnt make sense unless they used unaired footage from Season 2. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ComteDeLoach (talk • contribs) 16:56, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Notable episodes vs. episode summary
[edit]Can somebody please tell me what is the criteria for determining a notable episode vs. an episode summary. While I don't mind the inclusion of the summaries in Wikipedia, I really don't think that they are notable. Bob305 (talk) 01:59, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
- If you are referring to the episodes which has its own articles in this season, its because I'm thinking about completing the whole season. Season 9 has a lot more notable sources than earlier seasons. I've asked if the list of "notable episodes" is the right way to present such a list of episodes with own articles. Season 9 will dominate it, and each episode there isn't as notable as season openings and endings. I really hope other also will create articles, but at the moment I won't focus on other seasons Jonny2BeGood (talk) 11:13, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has a simple criteria for determining notability of episodes. The general notability guideline says "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article". WP:GNG expands upon this. Episode summaries are generally included in the season articles but not all episodes are notable, so we don't include episodes for all, although some TV programs seem to have articles for every episode. That doesn't mean all of the episodes are notable. For example, The West Wing has over 150 episode articles but around 130+ of these fail to credibly assert notability of the episodes. --AussieLegend (talk) 11:53, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Two newest episodes
[edit]Shouldn't the last two episodes be in Season 10? NCISfan2 (talk) 13:29, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- No, the show is in season nine... Davejohnsan (talk) 13:35, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- Then why is there a break? NCISfan2 (talk) 16:24, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- The US often has breaks in programming during its airing season. The Superbowl, Oscars, Indycar racing etc have all been factors but these breaks don't determine the start and end of seasons. --AussieLegend (talk) 17:08, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- You also need to bear a mind that, generally, television seasons on the major broadcast networks in the United States begin in September and end in May, but there are only 22–24 episodes in a full-length season, so these breaks are also a necessity. Davejohnsan (talk) 22:00, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- I also remember in the early seasons of Lost that they would take several breaks. On cable, they call these "summer/winter breaks". — WylieCoyote (talk) 02:42, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
