Revisions and Updates
[edit]Hello to anyone who might read this. I am a not-particularly-high-up employee in the curatorial department at the Museum of the City of New York, and I would like to help improve this page. Right now it is outdated, oddly structured, and frequently misleading, with emphasis in all the wrong places in terms of what is notable about the institution. Obviously I want to be very careful about any conflict of interest issues, but I would like to help improve the page by adding accurate, verifiable information about the museum's history and collections. For example: the collections section of the page seems to have been compiled at random, the Tweed Courthouse and Renovations information is entirely out of date, and the Notable Exhibitions section doesn't mention any of the museum's notable exhibitions, and spends most of its time on a somewhat random exhibition on baseball from 2007, as noted below.
I'm doing this on my own initiative, but because of my connection with the Museum, I wanted to introduce myself and set things out ahead of time. Any guidance and help are very much appreciated!!

Baseball
[edit]Any particular reason there is a prominent section on a closed exhibit? The baseball exhibit closed in 2007, it can be mentioned but I don't think it needs its own section. Thoughts? TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 15:29, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Expansion Update
[edit]I need to spend less time at the museum and more time working on this article. The new exhibition space has not yet opened but the grand opening is in a couple of weeks. Hoping the NYT will cover so we can source it. I need to update this badly. TravellingCari 16:38, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Exhibition space opened. Didn't think to bring my camera, will do when I go next time. I can get a better photo I think. TravellingCari 22:49, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Update
[edit]I updated this article slightly. It still needs some work and some better structure, but at least it's less out of date. Sources are somewhat of an issue, surprising given the subject StarM 03:30, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
