Qatari football success
[edit]Article states "is a major factor in determining Qatar's rise to success in the early 1990s"
A real overstatement. What success? Qatar has never qualified for wc, no significant success in Asian cup in 1992 or even 1996.
Gulf cup success hardly merits as success as such, because of a) limited geographical coverage b) generally low quality of teams participating.
Also Fifa ranking all-time best of 50+ can hardly be seen as mark of success.
Rise to regional success would be more accurate. Hjva (talk) 08:55, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
- What I meant to say was that he was a major factor in what was (until recently) the best-ever Qatari side in the 1990s. I've reworded it to reflect that and also reworded other parts. Elspamo4 (talk) 10:22, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
