No need for this page

[edit]

Mielie-mear is cornmeal, is maize meal. This is merely the name by which it is known in South Africa. If it was an indigenous food, fair enough to have a separate page, but maize/ corn is a recent food in Africa, introduced as part of the Columbian exchange. We can't have separate pages for food items for each country. It would be like creating pages about rice or beans in all kinds of countries - rice is rice, maize is maize, full stop. By all means, have pages about DISHES prepared from rice or beans or maize! Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 18:21, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is a separate entry for this ingredient for each different language. I agree, it is excessive. Sadza, ughali, etc. They should all be combined into one. Richardson mcphillips (talk) 19:46, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mphogoqo should be included

Also known as krummel pap, this is a very dry, crumbly breakfast food. Authoritative input is needed here - anyone? 2A00:23C7:3709:1401:A5AB:624E:9DAE:FA50 (talk) 21:42, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
