Microsoft promo or encyclo article?
[edit]I give you: small Smalltalk shops (never a connection to Microscoff) - small Prolog shops (never a conx to MScoff) - individual Rebol developers such as the FLASH dialect used by a $ kids website.
Or did F# magically redeem Redmond as a language innovator (I scoff.)
Eric Sink is old enough to have used R:Base or Paradox PAL or VermontViews in a Borland C tiny-shop? Delphi? DbaseIII+ ?
How does an article such as this stand so long untouched by an editor? Adobe anyone? FlexBuilder? DabbleDB ? G. Robert Shiplett 16:33, 6 November 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grshiplett (talk • contribs)
people
[edit]Which Bob Walsh? a reference, please (see ref #2)
Ward Cunningham ? (Smalltalk)
Reichart K. von Wolfscheild ? (Rebol)
Avi Bryant (dabbledb.com Squeak Smalltalk and trendly.com )
Without touching Python or Ruby folks outside IronRuby and IronPython.
Or do these Micro-ISV's all use MS VisualStudio by definition as "Microsmall-ISV" ? G. Robert Shiplett 16:41, 6 November 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grshiplett (talk • contribs)

First CEO to fight Micro-ISV's as a business model threat was arguably Bill Gates of Microsoft (see their acquisition of subLogic and their settlement with the original DOS authors.)
First micro to lie about their software's features and/or readiness to a large corp: Gates to Ricoh. Second: Gates to IBM.
My personal fave for falsehoods and deception: tiny Paisley to a Canadian bank (Cokato, MN). Most successful since? One guess. But now has 10+ staff, so no longer micro (now a Thomson-Reuters division.) Prevalence
[edit]While we might want to see more in India, Africa and China, mISV are almost the norm in Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and other Balkan (and also Baltic) countries in Europe.
example: non-Microsoft language but product on Windows: Strawberry Prolog email anti-spam at dobrev.com in Sofia. G. Robert Shiplett 17:44, 6 November 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grshiplett (talk • contribs)
Conferences held by micro-ISV's
[edit]Examples of specific mISV's having their own "DevCon" may be www.pdc.dk conferences or those prior to 2009 of www.rebol.com mISV as university "spin-off": www.curl.com from MIT G. Robert Shiplett 17:48, 6 November 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grshiplett (talk • contribs)
