Planned Revision of the Film Section

[edit]

Hello everyone!

The film section has been flagged as being written like an essay, and while the content within it is solid, I think it could do with some rewording to keep it away from the essay style. I also think it could be benefitted by some sectioning within the section to break it up and improve readability. I was considering the inclusion of a “Controversy over term” section or something to that end, but I have yet to decide on the exact process of that implementation. I intend to carry out these edits in the next few weeks, and will workshop them on my own end so things shouldn’t be too incremental in the meantime. Just wanted to say hi and inform of my intentions, please feel free if you have any recommendations or if you object to these proposed edits. Thanks! Hi everyone, I carried out the revision of the film section. I undertook heavy reworking of the section to revise its previous essay-like tone, and created the "Feminism in film melodrama" and "Notable melodramatic films" subsections to improve readability. I also managed the deletion of redundant (covered earlier in general definition of melodrama) and heavily opinionated sections with little relevance to the encyclopedic nature of Wikipedia. If someone comes by here, could they review the section to make sure it doesn't sound like an essay anymore and possibly remove the tag if so? Thanks!
