Does anybody with local maltby knowledge know of the name of the munitions factory that was located past the pit on the way out of Maltby? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ukbn2 (talkcontribs) 18:42, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

ROF Maltby - it made small arms not munitions, see Royal Small Arms Factory Hugo999 (talk) 01:48, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

mad inhabitants

[edit]

Why do people keep removing the local history regarding the mad maltby mob and the maltfriscans? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.191.171.10 (talkcontribs) 05:04, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

I dunno but they have removed some interesting stuff. Someone should put it back. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.191.171.10 (talkcontribs) 03:31, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Unsourced and non-notable text relating to "mad inhabitants" is not suitable for an encyclopedia like Wikipedia. It will be removed as vandalism, and its editors risk being blocked. -- MightyWarrior 09:50, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What does 'unsourced and non-notable' mean?

catholic club

[edit]

"The Catholic Club on Blyth Road was demolished in 2005 and is now the site of new houses."

this is actually the british legion, blyth road, that was demolished.Ukbn2 12:19, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Hutley

[edit]

I hear Mark Hutley is doing karaoke now... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.191.171.10 (talkcontribs) 03:32, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Blue (and Spud)

[edit]

What's Blue doing these days?

Was Spud faithful to him while he was banged up?

Population

[edit]

The history section says the population is "about 17,980 by the 2007 census", the figure is repeated in the lead & infobox. As there was no 2007 census and the 2001 census has a figure of 17,247 for the civil parish of Maltby, can anyone indicate where the population figure came from? Keith D (talk) 21:29, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The source http://www.rotherham.gov.uk/download/1498/maltby-full_profile says "Maltby is a small town with 14,565 residents" - but which is nearly 3000 less than the civil parish - but there is nothing else in parish except maltby and some fields and mines?? where are the rest??
