Atmosphere
[edit]I know I'm not the only one who thinks Loftus Road is one of the best places to watch football. I'll see if I can find some reliable surveys/stats to cite this (especially those that rate good proximity to the pitch and lively but not intimidating atmosphere) - although QPR fans may have better resources given that I'm from the Other Side of London and a different league Plutonium27 (talk) 13:59, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Loftus Versveld and South Africa
[edit]I have deleted the statement that the ground is named after Robert Owen Loftus Versfeld, a “key contributor to the early years of Queens Park Rangers”. The Ordnance Survey map of 1896 shows Loftus Road already so named. QPR were playing elsewhere until 1917. Mr Loftus Versfeld was apparently a sports administrator in Pretoria; the rugby ground was named after him when he died in 1932.
"All the roads surrounding Loftus Road have South African connections.". I'm not sure what is particularly South African about Ellerslie Road or Loftus Road. 14wesley (talk) 21:14, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
stands capacities
[edit]Does anyone know the individual capacities of each of the stands? The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 16:37, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Floodlight replacement
[edit]The article currently states that the floodlights were replaced in 1981. However I remember them being replaced the summer I worked on the underground, which was 1980. I will try to chase up a source and change this, but I doubt I am wrong: I only lived in London from late 1979 to early 1981, a period encompassing the one soccer "off season". The school end was rebuilt at the same time. Britmax (talk) 18:28, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
