Deletion Proposal

[edit]

I removed a deletion proposal placed by someone in the article. The player clear meets WP:GNG. He life and career have been widely covered by media, since he's one most promissing player in american soccer. I created the article and placed several references to make clear my point.--SirEdimon (talk) 04:12, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree, this article should be deleted. His life and career have not been "widely covered" by the media, he just happens to be the subject of recent USYNT news due to his performance in a youth tournament, the references you inserted do nothing to show his general notability beyond a niche audience at the present, and given the high rate of failure among youth prospects in association football, there is no guarantee that any notability he might have isn't temporary. The references you included prove nothing, until he signs a professional contract or makes an appearance with the senior tech this article is inappropriate. 2600:1:9312:5F9A:A85D:586A:1BE9:18A (talk) 04:37, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Its debatable if Sargent meets the standards for WP:GNG. If you continue the debate for WP:GNG for just a little more, he will surly sign with a professional club within the next few months. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.210.106.81 (talk) 15:20, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
