Date of treaty

[edit]

I have something to talk about here. The date when this "Japan-Korea Protectorate Treaty of 1904" was signed is differently stated here in English-version Wikipedia from its counterpart in Japanese-version Wikipedia.

In 1904 between Japan and Korea, as far as I know, two agreements were signed, one was on February, the other was on August. You'd better check the difference up and amend. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.157.38.242 (talkcontribs) 12:00, 17 September 2006.

This article is about the treaty which was concluded in February 1904. This treaty was part of a coercive process which unfolded over many months; and there were a series of Japan-Korea treaties. Among others, these included:
In terms made clear by the 1965 Treaty on Basic Relations between Japan and the Republic of Korea, we know that the term "agreement" is an oxymoron. There was no agreement, neither then nor now -- compare Japan-Korea Protocol of August 1904#Recision. --Tenmei (talk) 16:58, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
