His age
24.170.243.6 keeps on changing his birth-year to 1937, even though all sources say 1948. Where are you getting your info from? Yannisschmid (talk) 04:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Jackie's Fingers
Does anyone remember what was wrong with Jackie's fingers? He always wore little rubber things on his fingertips... --feitclub 13:55, May 9, 2005 (UTC)
- He claimed the paper he used gave him finger cuts so he wore finger condoms on them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.224.117.220 (talk • contribs)
- Remember the toothbrush incident? That was hilarious and might merit mention here. He got ribbed about that for a while. Quadzilla99 18:12, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
:: I remember Jackie talking about how the joke writing paper gave him some kind of allergic reaction. Howard made fun of him because Jackie had poor hygeine in general and he thought it was stupid of him to blame it on the paper.
Those things are called "finger cots" and help grip the paper.

Resigned or just unemployed
I would like to strongly dispute one of the facts in the article that states that Jackie Martling resigned when in fact he did not renew his contract with Infinity Broadcasting which means that he was forced into mandatory unemployement, When my contract with my employer was not renewed I was essentially told that I was not fired and I was not required to resign but basically that I didn't work there anymore. - I changed it from resigned from the show to left the show. I remember it on air as being described as Jackie has left the show. I left a lopsided tag so take another look and see if you still have a problem. If not just remove that flag. Optigan13 02:04, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I just noticed this user has an indefinite block, so I'm pulling the flag. Optigan13 18:08, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Jackie's Age
I'm currently listening to an old tape of The Howard Stern show dated from 1993, where the crew is debating Jackie's age, and Jackie comes out saying he is actually 49 years old instead of the ages Howard and Gary assumed (43 and 46) and citing his birth date at 1944. Gary also cites his age at the time as 32 making the show date of 1993 correct. Is Jackie 59 or 63? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.193.165.64 (talk) 18:10, 7 July 2007
- I added the IMDB as citation for his birthday which gives it as 02/14/1948 as stated, making him 59 today. Not sure how IMDB got that date, but that is what I am using since it is easier to reference then a show bit, especially one that pre-dates Mark's Friggin. Optigan13 02:04, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've personally seen the IMDB date of birth switch from 1944 to 1948 at least once. I believe the original Jackie Martling entry on IMDB was 1944. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.193.165.64 (talk) 09:21, 8 July 2007
- I was trying to check it against Mark's Friggin's list of birthdays, but that doesn't have a birthday listed for Jackie. Also Mark's has an entry in 2001 where Jackie's birth year is 1945 according to "two websites". On this one from 2000 where Jackie is 52 on that date, and Jackie even mumbles this to correct when they initially say 53, which backs up the 1948 DOB. This may be like the Eric vs Fred thing where it was unclear for a while what Fred's real name was. Optigan13 18:08, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Jackie and Chris, as The Sonics, used to play at a number of our dances when I was in Syosset High School. I don't remember ever thinking he was five years older than we were. One grade, maybe two, and I was born in '49.
-- Jackie has admitted that he was born in 1944. His exact words were, "Bombs were bursting and I was being born." I wish to god I could find that clip on YouTube. I guess I'll keep trying. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.53.130.97 (talk) 16:29, 25 March 2011 (UTC) . The rottentomatoes biography of Mr. Martling also lists his birth date as 1944.
