To Dash or Not to Dash?

[edit]

Potential naming confusion here, for us punctuation nerds:

  • NPS website is: Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Monument [1] (no dash; current article name)
  • DOI website announcement: Harriet Tubman -- Underground Railroad National Monument [2] (double dash w/spaces)
  • Federal Register: Harriet Tubman—Underground Railroad National Monument [3] (M dash, no spaces)

I presume the Federal Register is most authoritative. — Eoghanacht talk 15:44, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rename page with "National Historical Park"

[edit]

This site was redesignated from a National Monument to a National Historical Park. Although the Monument still exists in legal terms (the NHP law did not erase it), the National Park Service uses the NHP designation in all public literature, and does not count the Monument as a separate unit. I suggest this page be renamed Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park, with a mention in the body of the article dealing with the Monument.
